This is something that I am happy to see. We are looking for leadership in the party now, not a leader. Democrats have the Dear Leader and look where we are!
Chicago Tea Party to Steele: Have A Seat.

This offers Mr. Steele an excellent opportunity. He should publicly accept and advertise it to the local media. I suspect Mr. Steele, under the right circumstances could certainly draw a crowd. As Chairman of the RNC this a great opportunity to bring the party back to the base!

I hope he attends. It would demonstrate some much desired leadership!

you right, we dont need a leader just leadership, we are big boys and girls as the Tea Party is showing, we dont need some one getting on a crate and saying some goofy thing for us all to swoon and walk around quoting-"our leader today said we should do such mc baby"

Steele does have a slot, is Chicago the one? I know it is drawing a larger crowd since his announcement--looks like Beck headling Texas and the rest of FOX is everywhere and hannity is the Man to hear in Atlanta

Looks the medias assignment is to not recognize the TPs

The conservative movement leaders are the local party leaders, the national people are spokespersons to true conservatives. that is why Rush and Gingrich can say what they want but it does not mean the conservatives are going to do it.

But if Chairman Steele would push a little more, he could become a conservative leader and bring a great healing in the movement.

Steele seems to be bouncing back with widespread support lately. His last two rallies garnered thousands of loud fans, easily equal to some of the Tea Party events reported.

Most of the conservatives are realising that their opposition to Steele was driven by lies from the MSM and other quasi-wannabe conservative groups.

toatally agree, most folks never heard his name and the day after the Rahm Ran Media announced him a hate campaign began

I'm not sure what lies from the mainstream media sullied my opinion on Chairman Steele you are referring to, but he had a rough start! A party in disarray and a few, not unnoticed, verbal gaffes have left a "few" of the faithful more than a bit troubled.

I have always liked Mr. Steele.

He holds a very important position within the party, at a very important time and deserves the benefit of the doubt. A slow troublesome start has given way to some encouraging signs. He is more than proving his importance in fundraising and organizing at the grassroots level. This was a campaign promise, no?

I am cautiously optimistic!

No one implied you were one of whom I was reffering to. I was reffering to the super far right out of touch fringe conservatives who can only vote RNC if their man is nominated or they are leaving yet again to another party they have voted for for years anyway. You have not identified yourself like that and no one assumed you were. I critisize Mr.Steele. We all should. It keeps him honest. But I was reffering to pointless attacks.

Michael, I didn't mean to imply any perceived offense. Although new to the these forums of discussion I am not blind. But still, I am unsure the whom you are referring to. It seems a very generic description. Much like "they" and "them". Is this a Ron Paulian issue?

I like Chairman Steele and believe he is doing well so far. There is no doubt that he came out of the gate fairly slow. He did himself no favors on the Hughley show and rightly deserved criticism. He has since avoided MSM interviews and gotten to the business of RNC chairman. Delivering early on in fundraising.

It remains to be seen what trend will emerge. I hope his silence with CNN etal, means that he is quietly engaging every organizer of every TEA party protest. To put grassroots conservatism and party building into the proverbial fold. I hope he is reaching out to online organizations like Rebuild the Party and others.

The Chicago TEA party invited him to their party, albeit backhandedly. I thought this would be a great opportunity for him to meet the people. This is a movement without a leader and likely this would have been an opportunity to show true leadership!

Pointless attacks be damned!!

A wonderful 2 week vacation to Disneyworld with the family has left me out of the loop. I tried to make a big deal about the Chairman's options. Did he attend the Chicago event? If not, did he participate?

RNC voters who left in 2008 are now coming back to the RNC since Obama has been elected and most realised their defection could have caused Obama's victory. McCain may not be the best candidate but he would be 100% better, at least we would control most of his agenda. And the democrats do not hold veto override ability.

It was great! The kids loved it and that is more than enough! Which really helps when you are lugging around a 30 lb redheaded "princess". That's my girl though and what is a father to do?

I can't say that it was a dream vacation, however! Alas, dreams must change...

And as I said "The kids loved it and that is more than enough!"

Rotten Security guy?
