This is something that I am happy to see. We are looking for leadership in the party now, not a leader. Democrats have the Dear Leader and look where we are!
Chicago Tea Party to Steele: Have A Seat.

This offers Mr. Steele an excellent opportunity. He should publicly accept and advertise it to the local media. I suspect Mr. Steele, under the right circumstances could certainly draw a crowd. As Chairman of the RNC this a great opportunity to bring the party back to the base!

I hope he attends. It would demonstrate some much desired leadership!

Steele needs to just stay away and do his job at the RNC. His job is not to be seen or heard but to raise money and find good candidates. And he is doing a goof job. The GOP base is starting to get excited again (partly due to Obama), the RNC outraised the DNC by 1 million dollars and thousands of small donors, and most importantly of all wayward voters are starting to come back to the GOP. Activists are starting to get involved again in the party and the GOP is starting to stand up for small business and growth through fiscal discipline again. I can say I know wayward voters who voted for the libertarian candidate and Constitutionalist party who are coming back into the fold. The GOP is recovering it will just take time.

I agree gabe. He has done exactly the right thing, at least on the surface. He stopped talking and got to work. One hopes that he is making progress and would make sense for him to reach out to these online communities. It's really hard to organize a community if you are not part of the community. His job, at least for now is fundraising and finding good candidates. Lets hope he is doing well.

Since Cooperstown is down the road we would be wise to remember this is a 9 inning game that ends in November 2010.

Good Luck to the Chairman!

Exactly, we are in the spring training sessions for the 2010 election. Wait until Novemebr of this year, that is when all the real heat be turned up because the 2009 elections will have ended.

In fairness to Steele he has gotten down to business. He has all but filled out the RNC staff, he has found dozens of good candidates across the country and he has helped the RNC and GOP outraise the DNC and Democratic party and stay debt free to boot. So far in inning 1 the only blemish for Steele is his NY20 loss, but that was more due to bad campaigning then his direct influence. Steele has and is doing a good job, the Dems are making it easier for him.

The dems will try and play up the NY20 loss but it is not going anywhere. Murohy does not have enough time to get into DC without having to worry about 2010. By the time he enters the Congressional Halls, Pelosi will have him on the phones trying to raise over $2 million to remain in the seat.

Yah and Murphy will like the other Blue Dogs have a hard time coming back to the district and explaining his crappy voting record. This seat was bought and won by the liberal courts, the unions and Moveon.org.

That's interesting!

Soros and Moveon.Org are the drivers behind Obama and the Dem resurgence in this country. They will do anything to gain power and keep it. They have found a willing puppet in Obama and a public that is willing to give him enough leash for him to choke them with it. This country is in for a rude wake up call soon.
