Barry Goldwater believed that the Constitution meant what it said and did not need to be revised reviewed or changed. He supported low taxes and a strong defence. He also railed about the thought police in our bedrooms and schools where to quote him "They have no damn right to interfere in our free right to do as we damn well please."

He fought wasteful spending because it was our money not the governments. Progressive taxes were wrong and not allowed in the Constitution. All taxes and levies must be as to population or equally divided equally amongst the citizens based on a head count. There are many ways the Forefathers tried to protect the citizens from wealth removal from citizens for government purposes.

These unfair actions started the Goldwater conservative movement that carried the country through the Reagan Presidency. Goldwater was the father of the party not Reagan.

Right,

Winning and losing elections have no effect on the Constitution. It was written to withstand time and people by limiting Government and protecting the rights of States and Citizens. If the duly elected, by their own actions violate their oath of office and the Constitution - secession and rebellion are just two of the available remedies.

We also have impeachment for the President, members of Congress and Judges. Depending on the attitude of the elected and appointed officers of the government (Politicians and Judges) open rebellion maybe be the only course of action available to the many.

For two Hundred years the Constitution was mostly enforced by the Courts and the desires of the citizens to be free from Government mandates. In the last fifty years we have seen the weakening of the Constitution and the creation of non-existing rights by Congress and the Courts,

GOVERNMENT TO EXIST MUST BE APPROVED BY THE PEOPLE OR IT WILL SURLY FAIL.

It will probably be proven in the 3rd year of Obama's reign as President, that he's not a US Citizen. And some lame-ass attempt to not send the country into riots will bail-him-out to continue on as President.

The Constitution, fully enforced would have prevented all of this.

Tamara,

You have brought light to my dark days with your well thought out logic. The ideal person we are seeking is well described by your creation of Goldwater theory and Reagan communications, what a wonderful world that would be. Thank you for a very good post. it will contribute to the conversations around the conservative world for years to come.

Terrence: Obama's mother was a U.S. citizen. He could have been born abroad and still be a citizen.

I was born in Rio De Janeiro - my father was a U.S. Naval officer and my mother is a Brazillian holding dual citizenship. No one has ever questioned my nationality.

The key to your problem is "your father was in the military". This gives special treatment.

One of the things Barry Goldwater did during the campaign for President was good for the country but bad for his campaign. North Korea captured one of our ships and held the men hostages - Barry's answer to them was give me my boat and people back or I will start bombing at the 50th parallel and not stop until you give back the boat and crew.

This is what must be done with bad crazy leaders - Barry was right then and we still have North Korea building bombs and teaching others to do the same. Carter got the Peace prize, Clinton got reelected and NK got the money and the bomb. How is that for leadership and justice for Americans???

Wow, you're right, I remember that. Goldwater came on strong, and the public hadn't even seen JFK's careful and diplomatic hand after that in the Cuban Missle Crisis. No one here in the US knew how to take Goldwater's resolve because he was basically an American Original in doing what he did.

Some of the best get shuffled behind the most advertized at times.

yeah , like Ron Paul, who you slam every chance you get. Goldwater is one of Dr. Pauls heros. Barry Jr. introduced Dr. paul at his "Rally for the republic". That was on the same day the "black hats " denied his delegates ,and 1.2 million voters voice to be heard. Shame on them!!!

Rick,

welcome to the discussion. No one is slamming Dr. Paul, many like me a Texans know the good Doctor well. Like Goldwater before him he had his chance and failed to win. It is time to move on to a new candidate that has the principles of small government return to the limits of the Constitution by requiring all laws passed by Congress to spell out the provisions that make it pass the Constitutional requirements.

This is a concept that was presented by an Arizona Congressman for the last three of four sessions of Congress - how many politicians signed on as a co-sponsor out of 535, yes you got it right only 35. Now if the current group will not agree to Constitutional limits on their laws hwo do we ever hope to return to the freedoms our Forefathers fought for????

Terrence,

eventually the truth always comes out - just as it did to Nixon, Clinton, JFK, LBJ, and the various Whitehouse scandals. Someone always tells all sooner or later. That is why I give very little consideration for conspiracy theories that never get answered. Even the Rosenberg giving nuclear secrets finally came out of the dark. It is all a waste of time and use of the little gray cells.

Lock and Terrence.

It has more than likely already been proven. It's well hidden by the media. There are about 11 more lawsuits. I believe the republican party is supporting the one by Keyes.

Marlene,

The law is the last place to go for justice for it the seat of those that want to legislate through the courts - look at the tax laws and the courts. There is no fairness or justice so expect none here this time again.
