Barry Goldwater believed that the Constitution meant what it said and did not need to be revised reviewed or changed. He supported low taxes and a strong defence. He also railed about the thought police in our bedrooms and schools where to quote him "They have no damn right to interfere in our free right to do as we damn well please."
He fought wasteful spending because it was our money not the governments. Progressive taxes were wrong and not allowed in the Constitution. All taxes and levies must be as to population or equally divided equally amongst the citizens based on a head count. There are many ways the Forefathers tried to protect the citizens from wealth removal from citizens for government purposes.
These unfair actions started the Goldwater conservative movement that carried the country through the Reagan Presidency. Goldwater was the father of the party not Reagan.
Sunstein and Lloyd should be next on the 'run over by bus list'.
BTW, Numbnuts Jones tried to call GW a crackhead. Selective memory seems to have forgotten BHO/ BS BRAGGED about doing coke during his campaign. Is no one concerned that he'll return to the 'habit' when the stress of no longer having his ego stroked hits.
Bet there was a real smoke cloud coming out from under the bed where he was urinating on himself over his commie buddy. Maybe he was looking for a crackpipe under there.
Well, it appears that the promise of change is coming to a place called DC. VAn Jones is out, Rangel is on the death bed, Czarsa re all in question now, Tax and Cap trade is looking bad, health care has the H1N1 pig flu, tax increases are being questioned in this economy, the deficit is huge, spending is out of control, there is no energy plan, there is no manufacturing recovery plan. What has changed is that the Federal Government now owns a big stake in AIG, GM, Chrysler, Bof A, CITI and few other banks, the Federal Reserve had to buy bonds foreigner would not buy (called monetizing the debt).
Yes indeed changes are there; what is missing is progress in the economy. Like Marlene and all of you have pointed out the man and his entire Administration lack real world business management skills or education. A lawyer runs the car business, a bigot ran the green jobs, a bigot runs the communications czar, and on and on; they all have one thing in common, lack of experience and education to perform the job at hand.
Gotta CONGRATULATE ALL of the great PATRIOTIC AMERICANS who are going out of the way to attend TEA PARTIES and speak up. YOU ARE DOING A GREAT PATRIOTIC SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. Keep it up, it is working. I know it is a huge effort, and for a long while it seemed as though it was an exercise in futility, but YOU ARE SUCCEEDING. I am sure each and everyone of you have made sacrifices in order to attend. And, that you have been met by the 'pay for play' crowd from the wanna handout gang. One even lost a finger. You are the HEROES OF OUR FUTURE.
Without you, our FREEDOMS for the future would be in doubt. In fact they still are until this fascist loving administration is put out of office. Their goal remains, spend us into debt until the country folds, chaos takes over to the point that the population is willing to accept the fascist oligarchy rule of a DICTATOR.
The greatest thing is that the success this weekend in driving out one czar PROVES WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. That is extremely important. A lot had given up in despair. We WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. WE WILL SAVE OUR COUNTRY FROM THE ENEMIES OF OUR CONSTITUTION AND OUR COUNTRY AMONG US.
for those not able to do DC the local areas are having DC March support Tea Parties. We have one at the Fed Building in Los Angeles and another for us Desert folks in Temecula, which will cover San Diego also. I was told names to contact in Temecula so thats where the Bikes will go.
Like Marelene is leading toward, we will win if we continue the fight, its costing us money but thats a hell of a lot cheaper than costing us our Freedom. We are shutting down the fringe attacks also comming at us towards our Senate and House Seats-while we are fighting for America the fringe is trying to move in on us so keep your guards up even when ya feel safe
We bumped a Czar but obama installed another one this morning under Labor and Manufactoring--a Govt Union Leader with power above congress. We have changed the readings he is doing to our grandkids but we will now have to listen to how we are out of control because the new readings appear basically harmless..
Battles we are winning but expect us to lose some also, the War is the most important one in our lifetimes so we must win this war. We stand to take seats in House and Senate, a big switch in State govts and it appears the New Dem Party is collapsing, caving into itself. We are due to lose a few seats also but defend them with experienced GOP people as in Bunnings case
I forgot we have a TP from 1-3, heading there now, gonna try and get video with gal riding my Harley waving a flag--so hard to get women on a Harley yuk yuk yuk
Here is an article repeating what we have discussed on the thread for years now.
Barack Obama accused of making 'Depression' mistakes
Barack ObamaBarack Obama is committing the same mistakes made by policymakers during the Great Depression, according to a new study endorsed by Nobel laureate James Buchanan. His policies even have the potential to consign the US to a similar fate as Argentina, which suffered a painful and humiliating slide from first to Third World status last century, the paper says. There are "troubling similarities" between the US President's actions since taking office and those which in the 1930s sent the US and much of the world spiraling into the worst economic collapse in recorded history, says the new pamphlet, published by the Institute of Economic Affairs. In particular, the authors, economists Charles Rowley of George Mason University and Nathanael Smith of the Locke Institute, claim that the White House's plans to pour hundreds of billions of dollars of cash into the economy will undermine it in the long run. They say that by employing deficit spending and increased state intervention President Obama will ultimately hamper the long-term growth potential of the US economy and may risk delaying full economic recovery by several years. The study represents a challenge to the widely held view that Keynesian fiscal policies helped the US recover from the Depression which started in the early 1930s. The authors say: "[Franklin D Roosevelt's] interventionist policies and draconian tax increases delayed full economic recovery by several years by exacerbating a climate of pessimistic expectations that drove down private capital formation and household consumption to unprecedented lows." - Telegraph

Free-Market Analysis: The British ride to America's rescue? The Institute of Economic Affairs, Britain's self-proclaimed oldest free-market think tank, supposedly inspired by one of our favorite economic thinkers, FA Hayek has come out against the Obama administration's prophylactic profligacy. The conclusions of the IEA study seem pretty good. We've mentioned them of course for nearly a year now in the pages of this modest journal, but we are happy that the IEA has joined the club.
