Barry Goldwater believed that the Constitution meant what it said and did not need to be revised reviewed or changed. He supported low taxes and a strong defence. He also railed about the thought police in our bedrooms and schools where to quote him "They have no damn right to interfere in our free right to do as we damn well please."

He fought wasteful spending because it was our money not the governments. Progressive taxes were wrong and not allowed in the Constitution. All taxes and levies must be as to population or equally divided equally amongst the citizens based on a head count. There are many ways the Forefathers tried to protect the citizens from wealth removal from citizens for government purposes.

These unfair actions started the Goldwater conservative movement that carried the country through the Reagan Presidency. Goldwater was the father of the party not Reagan.

Napolitano makes more sense than most anybody out there. Newt G. should be making a 2012 run.

Had a little brain storm. How hard is it to get a referendum on a state ballot? What are the chances of imposing a tax on campaign funds, say 20%, think that will get the attention of those SOBs?

It should be laddered with an 80% max when the contributions reach say the million dollar mark. Any amount over the million gets taxed at 80%. That's the best idea I've heard in a long time. Don't believe you'll find any taxpayer detractors. Start with N Nobama, Reid, Pelosi. Get 'em all.

I forgot to mention, Fedex posted an ad on Utube.

It seems Brown has been lobbying for bail out money. Can U imagine where this is headed?

make sense to me. how about 50% because they are the rich.

80% as in the same 80% that the dumbocrats want to inflict on the general population. Perhaps there should be a surcharge on the more successful polycrats as well.

Hope everyone will agree on my next suggestion.

We should all recognize a real patriot. Today a real patriot is a person that puts principles ahead of their pocketbook. CNN lost a great employee yesterday. Lou Dobbs has stood up for his, and our, principles. He's probably CNN's last worthwhile employee. It is clearly their loss.

Lou Dobbs was one of the originals on CNN. He stood up for what is right for this country. I used to watch pretty regularly until they got totally in the Commie bag. Lou will be fine. He still has his principles. CNN has been losing viewers since they started chasing the liberals down the tubes. CNN is at the bottom of the Leader Board and falling. They no longer have any principles at all.

In mho, anyone who stands up for what is right is a PATRIOT AND A HERO.

I like Lou Dobbs too. I don't always agree with him, but isn't that the point of having an editorially based news program?

His stance on immigration has been a little too shrill for my tastes, but since he has been the only leading news person who really lead examination of this issue...over all I give him kudos for his independence...something you just don't see a lot of on any network.

CNN has made a very bad decision, in my opinion.

Have to confess that I haven't been watching him due to CNN's 'in the bag' status. I don't always agree with anybody, but EVERYBODY has a right, if not an obligation to speak the truth on what is going on in this country, indeed the world when reporting the news.

This is what true great thinkers believe, that debate is open and no opinion is beyond discussion, Those that limit debate or content are fools at best. Kings at worst.

Wow! Very well said....if you wrote this, you are an incredible writer, and if you are quoting, you are almost certainly incredibly well read...my hat off to you...

yes this came from my feeble old mind. Longivity benifits wisdom through memory or experience.

No kidding...that's the best quote I've come up with (or rather you came up with) in a long time...and I try to collect good quotes.

I sure hope you are writing in other venues...because that is one hell of a great line.
