Barry Goldwater believed that the Constitution meant what it said and did not need to be revised reviewed or changed. He supported low taxes and a strong defence. He also railed about the thought police in our bedrooms and schools where to quote him "They have no damn right to interfere in our free right to do as we damn well please."

He fought wasteful spending because it was our money not the governments. Progressive taxes were wrong and not allowed in the Constitution. All taxes and levies must be as to population or equally divided equally amongst the citizens based on a head count. There are many ways the Forefathers tried to protect the citizens from wealth removal from citizens for government purposes.

These unfair actions started the Goldwater conservative movement that carried the country through the Reagan Presidency. Goldwater was the father of the party not Reagan.

The majority of this post is valid, but I am going to play devils advocate for a moment. I am not lashing out @ any1 or belittling the opinion of others, just want to fill in a hole or 2. Fell free to retort on my comments as they r just personal opinions.

$250,000 for a condo, is that something to brag about?? The 3br HOUSE, w/ .3acre, I live in cost $18K, of course the tax value is much higher now. While I did express some good fortune previous I really want to keep my detached 2 car garage!!

It's funny how the "dozens of stories" he reads are anti muzlum, yet not even fox will post atrocities committed by anything other than Nazis. Think I tried to make this point in my last post. The news we are exposed to is extremely US bias, fox is just posting the only alternative short of researching International new on the net.

blahh blahh, more belief in what the old stream media has to say, get off ur high horse and find the facts for ur self lazy bum. He seems to EXPECT the media to be truthful about what they report, and accepts it as the truth esp when it's bias toward his POV. READ MEDIA MYTHMAKERS B. Radford. Project for Excellence in Journalism 57% of TV news stories prove to be factual. Which is more accountable gov or media?? Sounds like the start of a bad joke.

JOHN GALT DIDN'T SERVE IN THE MILITARY, but then again he is a fictional character. I don't HATE the military, it's just that alot of them come across as "I am a patriot" when in reality they keep the corrupt in power by protecting and SERVING them. Them being those in power. Who do U think DC is going to call if the pee on decide they have had enough? Those that stormed Omaha beach "HEROS", and to have their reputation associated w/ a military w/ more hardware than sense is a degradation to their honor.

Lisa kit,

$250K is cheap for a condo in many areas except Detroit. The message to America is that the Federal Government has failed at every level and in every effort. Show me one just one State or country that has adopted the Socialist redistribution plan now in use in America. They have all failed with the exception of some super small countries (smaller than Maine).

You must remember that the military take a oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution and the country - the difference between them and the Congress is that they keep their OATH. Live free or die>

The media is mired down in political correctness except when attacking the rich and those that have a better than bottom life style earned through hard work. Pull up your pants Americans and tell your State to just say no, no to federal taxes, no to education controls, no to gas taxes, no to welfare, no to pork spending, no to mandates not spelled out in the constitution. Yes - just say no. A rebellion lead by the States is the only way out of this political class mess that I can see - reject their claim to power and force them to prove they possess that power period end of bad government.

Lock and Lisa,

I have to agree with Lock on this issue. And anyone who thinks ANY country can EXIST without a strong military is niaive to the point of a child. Any country that even looks like its military is weak is wide open to challenges. Right now, we are looking like our leadership is weak and every country that deals with the usurper sees him that way. That is why less and less are seeing it the way of the US.

As Reagan said, CARRY A BIG STICK. Few understand that carrying the big stick doesn't mean starting a contingency, rather letting everyone know you have it and will not hesitate to use it if needed.

A DITHERING FOOL THAT CANNOT EVEN DECIDE TO BACK UP HIS PRIOR DECISION IS WEAK KNEED AND DOES NOT BELONG IN ANY POSITION OF LEADERSHIP LET ALONE CIC.

This non-action by the Liberal Socialist pseudo intellectual is consistent with their greatly exaggerated thinking patterns. All great Socialist/Marxist thinkers since Plato have railed about their ability to debate all sides of an issue in a purely open intellectual evaluation.

I think not. They always attempt to box in the usable facts like the settled science of global warming. To the contrary, they attack in unison any dissenting opinion or facts in the matter. Look how they have used none climate PhD's to claim a preponderance of scientist have accepted the erroneous conclusion they desired in the first place. They then attack in unison any real scientist that takes issue with their unfounded belief system.

The total core of the Socialist/Marxist/Fascist world government philosophy is centered by a global carbon tax to redistribute the wealth of nations and hold power over the industrial policy for the entire globe. These are very dangerous thoughts that are hidden from who these people really are and how they want to destroy the Constitutional Government in America.

Now they find themselves in a new media war and are struggling to control the message and set the debate. They continue to throw new spending bills health care, cap and trade, tax increases, stop the wars, let South Korea and Iraq go nuclear with bombs. The intended consequences of these massive changes is to confuse and frustrate those that simply disagree.
As the facts flow slowly to the surface, they are in full stampede mode - do it now - do it now it just must be done to save the Obama Presidency.

While they are losing the support of the voters, BHO is under the magic 50% approval rating with Congress at around 20% .What do they do to change the subject from failure and bad ideas? They bring in the ultimate smoke screen - put the terrorist on civilian trials in New York. These trials will occupy the cable news for years and put many billions in the pockets of his supporters - yes the Lawyers. Oh what at am I thinking this is a stimulus plan to create or save thousands of union member's of the Bar Association.

Shakespeare was correct when he said "kill the attorneys". We now suffer from a government by the Attorneys for the Attorneys.

Larry and Lisa,

This is the NObama's would have all us lesser beings exist. It's kinda like living in a shoebox in a shoe store stockroom. Don't know where the appeal lies.

My daughter and her family were looking at a million+ townhouse packed in like a sardine with others in Long Branch, NJ. 3 tall narrow shoeboxes. 3 car garage with single car entry. Pity the fool that wanted to use the car that went in first. No yard. No place for the grill that they use about daily. He said they could chain it to something to keep the hoodies from stealing it. Parking would be a nightmare about 3 or 4 months of the year. I said they would have to do their visiting at my place as I would not even attempt to find parking or do the steps as no living could be done on the first floor.

Property taxes would have to be more than $14,000 a year. All this just to live by the pretty nasty beach there. Still remember her calling it the 'brown foam'.

Welcome to the club. There are millions of Americans who are DAMN TIRED. I'm 64 and agree. Sorry for my grandchildren and all the other grandchildren of working folks.

The politicians have declared war on the 'rich'. Rich is not the accurate word. The real people they've declared war on are the WORKING PEOPLE, THE TAXPAYING PRODUCTIVE PEOPLE OF OUR COUNTRY.

We need to let them know in every way possible WE WILL NOT STAND FOR IT. We will take our country back.

Congress Creating Big Brother for Wall Street
by Brian Darling
Senator Chris Dodd’s (D-CT) approach to overhaul financial industry regulations is scheduled to be debated next week in the Senate Banking Committee with a mark-up of the bill starting in early December. This bill is sold as an effort by the federal government to seize control of financial institutions with the potential to cause a financial market meltdown. Sources in the Senate tell me that the true effect of this bill will be to lock in the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), give special treatment for the trading partners of financial institutions facing bankruptcy, and grant more power to the Federal Reserve Board in Washington over monetary policy. This financial regulatory reform effort will create a massive new bureaucracy that will oversee financial institutions that will effectively serve as a Big Brother for Big Business.

From a Senate Banking Committee press release

“It is the job of this Congress to restore responsibility and accountability in our financial system to give Americans confidence that there is a system in place that works for and protects them,” Dodd said at the press conference. “We must create a sound foundation to grow the economy and create jobs.”
The problem is that the big government approach to the financial regulatory reform effort may harm economic growth and grants sweeping new political powers to the Federal Reserve over monetary policy. The big ticket item for the legislation is the creation of a new federal bureacracy called the “Consumer Financial Protection Agency.” The discussion draft of the legislation describes the new agency as “an independent watchdog to ensure American consumers get the clear, accurate information they need to shop for mortgages, credit cards, and other financial products, while prohibiting hidden fees, abusive terms, and deceptive practices.” The fact of the matter is that this new government entity distracts freedom loving Americans from many other disturbing aspects of this bill that will grow government and harm economic prosperity.
The discussion draft “prevents excessively large or complex financial institutions from bringing down the economy” by “creating a safe way to shut them down.” They create a “Agency for Financial Stability” to be government entity to replace the free market forces. If these banks fail, they will avoid a bankruptcy proceeding, like any other business, and their creditors and trading partners will be bailed out by the federal government. If you liked the Bailout of Wall Street, then you will love this legislation because it makes permanent a mechanism to place these private entities into a federal receivership (government control) then bail out the people doing business with them under the promise of the cost “ultimately be charged to financial firms.” A senior Senate staffer on financial service issues tells Big Government that this provision “treats financial companies different from everybody else – everybody else has to go to bankruptcy.”

Another objectionable provision would give control of the Regional Federal Reserve Banks to the Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Sources in the Senate tell Big Government that this provision grants Chairman of the Federal Reserve Ben Bernanke “more political influence over monetary policy.” Sources say that “if you are not going to abolish the Fed, the changes that they make to the regional Fed Board undermine the part of the fed that works the best.” Currently regional board members of the Fed do not answer to the Chairman of the Fed. Usually the “dissenters to easy money are regional Presidents,” because they are independent. The reform in this bill would give control of the regional Feds to so called reforms that “will concentrate power in Bernanke.” The bill might take away some regulatory power from the Fed, “but (the bill) gives the Washington Fed more power over monetary policy. The grave danger is that ” Bernanke lackeys” will be running monetary policy. John Taylor, Professor of Economics at Stanford University, argues that the “loss of Federal Reserve independence is a serious problem, especially at this time of rapidly increasing Federal debt and a greatly expanded Federal Reserve balance sheet.”
There are many objections to the Dodd approach to financial regulatory reform for those that believe in the free market and love freedom, but these provisions mentioned rise to the level of the most objectionable. Financial regulatory reform will create a massive new bureacracy, grow government and make politicians feel better, yet the true effect may be to make our financial sector more insulated from free market forces and give unelected bureacrats the power to run banks and financial services companies. Dodd’s Big Brother for Wall Street approach to financial services reform may do more harm than good for capitalism and economic growth.

for all the evil within that there is to discuss, and I hope we do... the thing that stands out to me is that this constant flow of evil intended major attacks is getting ridiculous. I liken it to my house. If there's somebody in it that has made it clear that I must defend against them constantly-they absolutely must go-NOW...it's far too tiring and the constant battle takes alot away from my productivity-and even more importantly- peace of mind.
