Joe 6 pack,
again, what is your scientific evidence of global warming? Anecdotes without sources just doesn't count. Your friends site has some interesting information and I don't agree with politicizing the weather, but I don't think we have to blow off scientific studies without listening to their reasoning and even their proof. Personally, I think it's likely natural cycles the Earth is experiencing, but again, do we have to just blow people off like they are wackos just because we don't agree with them? That makes us, conservatives and GOP voters, seem like nuts ourselves.
Additionally, I work in the legal field, I've read the Constitution numerous times, but I've never, ever seen a passage regarding "open borders" or "illegal immigrants". Can you point me to the precise Article so I could better understand where you are coming from?
In fact, I think I do know where you're coming from. I agree with you more than you would think. I'm all in favor of building a wall from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico. Also, I've got no problem bolstering the Border Patrol with Nat. Guard. But, I think its impossible to round up 10-15 million illegals currently living here and shipping them home. It sounds too much like some middle-20th Century European plan, a la Germany or Russia. They are here and we should work hard to assimilate them into our culture, while at the same time securing the border to keep it sealed tight against future waves of illegals.

What are the problem with open borders? Wow Do you what makes up a country, economy, and what the constitution says about it. Read the CONSTITUTION and get back to me on this one too.
Rosk said:A few questions. How do you know global warming is junk science? Also, what are the problems from open borders? I know bailout mania and pork are big problems, I agree with you there. The other two issues, I think I know the problem with those, but I wonder what you think they are.
You know, labeling people as "RINOs" is counterproductive. This is precisely the attitude that has caused the GOP to lose this election. I'm a small-government, financially conservative Republican. I'm pro-military, against gun bans, against abortion yet, I'm all right with gay marriage, for promoting responsible sexuality (i.e. not abstinence only) to teenagers, for moves that would decriminalize certain amounts of marijuana (which is truly in the best interest of streamlining the justice system.) etc. My beliefs have been carefully reasoned and well thought out, and it's led me to ultimately believe that the Republican Party is the better party. I don't think this makes me any less of a Republican than others and I resent indications that I should be excluded because I don't fall into lock-step extremes. I volunteered for the McCain campaign for 8 months and have been involved in Republican groups for about a year or two now.
It's time for those of us who are politically active to grow up and get past this cliquey, "you're not a real Republican" attitude. I'm not saying that the party needs to be expanded to include those who are mostly liberal or truly liberal, but there needs to be a place for more moderate Republicans in the party. Alienating people the people who support you is not beneficial to anyone.
