We were surprised when John McCain pickedSarah Palin to be his Vice Presidential running mate. For the first few days the media didn't say much about her because they didn't have the extensive history of political and governmental material that they had on the other presidential candidates. We thought at the time that John McCain would have selected one of them because of their more conservative credentials to "balance the ticket."

The first interview with a network news anchor was with CBS's Katie Courac and Sarah Palin tried as best she could to answer the questions but "beginners luck" was not with her and from then-on the press tried to embarrass her every chance they got.

Considering that she has been Governor of Arizona one would think that this would indicate she had a certain amount of political intelligence and ability as she had managed several political campaigns to gain the attention of Republican Party officials in Washington.

Jim- There is always a downside to becoming a celebrity as well as national political "brand." It is expected that the more news she creates by making appearances the more the media is going to editorialize about it.

Look at John McCain, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and the President, they spent two years away from their jobs and it was hardly mentioned.

I realize you are a busy man and likely quite 'up on things' . . BUT . . . Sarah Palin is Governor of the other "A" state

Of course Palin will be attacked. Successful conservative mother/politicians are NOT the typical liberal woman shrill like Hillary where they are nasty and negative and hollow. Palin actually brings zeal, intelligence and honesty to the table, the NOW brings robots, and they cannot compete.

Can't fault Palin for doing very well by her state! Sure, there may be adjustments to make it perfect in Alaska, but with what she was given by a former and very corrupt predecessor in that office, where she has the state now is very good indeed.

Do that for our country, and hooray for us all.

Yes, being a celebrity carries a certain amount of being a target for the media. But the news reports are mostly negative in making fun of how she speaks, like quoting what she says and being sure to write "ya", when they know she means "you", as if that's a crime. Can you imagine any of them writing about someone who speaks street-language, and making it sound insulting that they do so ! Now here is where others can help. Write to Governor Sarah Palin and let her know how much you appreciate her efforts for the Republican Party and how she energized its supporters! Caution her to not take too big of a leap into the political arena, too soon. She needs to finish her current job. Consider a state position, before going to the federal level. Gain some media 'smarts', so she can handle them better. She certainly has the energy and spirit that the Party needs. And anyone who runs for a political office needs to have registered voters in numbers greater than the opposition has. Volunteers can do that, cheaply. And I welcome our new RNC Chairman Michael Steele. Give him your support, and ideas. He is asking for them.

that will be neat, the people that travel with her are cool also, I spent way over an hour sitting and talking with her Mom , she picked the chair next to me, and that Lady is pretty down to earth, when I had Sarahs brother sign my wooden walking cane he had one of thier group take a pic of that cause he said it was the 1st time he signed anything like that
