should rebranding..as in business for the republican party mean out with the old and in with the new?

I was curious about what people thought about rebranding of the party.

I am also curious if people would support or subscribe to replacing all the post retirement representatives and senators with new blood so that can be done.

I was for example going right to the top thinking John Mccain has done all he can now do in politics...and noticed he has this guys Chris Simcox of the minutemen running against him in the primary with a much stronger activist resume and support in AZ...should it be time for McCain to pass the torch and enjoy a break for the sake of the simcox's and the palin's of the future party?

I would not support Newt Gingrich for prez in 2008 or 2012 in the primary. I believe that the GOP to e rebranded needs new blood to run in 2010 and 2012. That applies to candidates like McCain to. The problem I see here though is that the grassroots and GOP supporters are working to unseat a moderate GOP incumbent instead of a Dem incumbent.

You may be right Gabe, but Gingrich, oddly enough, supports a rather revolutionary and very intelligent platform right now, one I have not had the pleasure to read in quite some time.

I think rebranding means connecting the same "old" value proposition to the most recent and relevant changes in American culture.

We can't go "out with the old" because that's what makes the Grand Old Party so grand. But we should be highlighting how what's grand and old addresses newly prominent concerns and takes advantages of what's newly advantageous (e.g. web 2.0, openness, connectedness, individuality, etc.)

Today's voters have unprecedented access to knowledge. Talking down to them is the #1 mistake I would cite across politics, esp. Fox News. Those who are motivated to take action are the most likely to respond to being informed.

Our website, OutloudOpinion.com, creates podcasts of political editorials. I think that's a good new media way to inform the public of the issues, and then the GOP's superior stance will shine through.
