Committee on the Campaign for Liberty

Exploring the political views of Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty supporters, and the viability of an attempt to include them in our rebuilding efforts.

Welcome

Our stated goals are as follows:

1. To explore and define the core beliefs of each group (Campaign for Liberty and the GOP) to see just how much we can all agree on,
2. To determine whether we can share enough of a common vision to stand united in a long-term movement to restore conservative, free-market, small-government policies in our Nation, and
3. To craft a report detailing the requirements of a party platform, action plan and mission statement which we can unite to support.

To these ends, please feel free to contribute your thoughts. Note that this is a structured debate; you can find more information in the discussion titled, "Our Mission and Plan".

I would recoment "The Obama Deception", just released and highly informative.

"When a government is big enough to give you anything, they are big enough to take everything". Attributed to Thomas Jefferson

We don't look to the government to spend and tax nor do we desire them to spend and borrow. While the Dems are known for increasing wastefull Keysian spending, we voted in a Republicans majority who Doubled the size of Government, who started unnecessary wars, diluted our money, and passed numerous unconstitutional Laws reducing our Freedoms & Liberties like the Patriot Act, Safe Act, Real ID Act, Military Comm. Act 2005, etc.... It feels like a Bait & Switch scheme. Bailout, Spend and Bailout again and not a single foreclosed home saved. Florida has a 50,000 concealed weapons permit backlog... It is all about CONTROL and TYRANNY, Your choice Fascist or Communist versions. So who should we trust? Who earned it? Who can follow the Constitution?

Come to CPAC and say hello!
Dan Tucker Comment by Dan Tucker on February 11, 2009 at 11:01pm
Event: CPAC 2009
Time: 10:00 AM
Date: Thursday, February 26, 2009
Location: Omni Shoreham Hotel
Address: 2500 Calvert Street, NW, Washington, DC 20008

I'm looking forward to attending the CPAC (www.cpac.org) Conference in DC from 2/26 thru 3/1/2009 especailly so many top notch conservative speakers from Michael Steele at the Presidential Dinner to Ron Paul & Judge Napolitano at the C4L Forum on Friday night (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/cpac2009.php) to Romney, Huckleberry and even Rush Limbaugh.
However, this Forum and the gestures from Jim Greer in Florida are always under scrutany, especially when I still get reports from Escambia County (Pensacola FL. Area) that their REC has admonished, publically humiliated and denied entry from all Ron Paul Republicans. The REC's even change their oaths at random to support a Rhino Gov. Crist, the same one who introduces Obama and makes calls for him while ALL of our Republican Congressman & Senators appose the Obama EAR MARK Spending Spree. 90% of America apposed the $700 Billion Banster Robbery who promptly took our dollars and gave it to themselves as Bonuses and Retention Awards and GM immediatly sent $Billion to Brazil to build a factory and now another $820 Billion Bate & Switch program for political payola and $Billions going to violate our privacy while digitizing all Health records... So, why should we support two different (Fascist or Comunist) forms of a totalitarian Government? Where is the Freedom? Where is the Liberty and Where is the Constitution while the Federal Reserve debases our dollar and the parties dismantle our sovereignty, allowing 1.5 million immigrants annually to take the remaining jobs while we have lost 2.5 million jobs last year. I guess we're at the mercy of MoveOn, Laraza, Acorn and The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and their motto is: "If we can send our jobs to Cheap labor then we'll bring cheap labor to take the left overs". Heaven forbid we put in a clause that states "Made in America ONLY or Jobs Created for U.S. Citizens ONLY" with our tax dollars... No, they aurgue that our tax dollars need to be refunded to those who pay no taxes... and that is suppose to be fair? Does anyone in this government represent the tax paying U.S. Citizens?

I have to say that I was a conservative Republican for 32 years before I ever heard of Ron Paul. I read through the Deal Breakers and must say I wouldn't push for all of them but I feel good about a candidate or his stand if I agree on 85% or more. manipulating the market is not a free market and forcing oil wells off our coast does not promote States Rights and is not Ecologically conservative. I noticed that it does mention rights most of us took for granted until they were taken away... Posse Comitats, Habeas Corpus but what about the Real ID ACT. To enact it means our representatives believes the citizens are property of the state and can be tracked, when in fact, the government only exists because the people allow it to and the Representatives (Congressman, Senators, President & Judges) are servants of the people. Our existing constitution lists the 17 responsibilities the Federal Government has.

Amen to that Dan.
Dan Tucker Comment by Dan Tucker on January 25, 2009 at 12:14pm
Ask yourself, What do you want to leave the next generations of U.S. Citizens? Smaller government, Less taxes, sound money, a chance for prosperity, Freedom (of Speech, to travel, to raise their own families, to enjoy their own religion, to earn a resonable living wage) and (Individual) Liberty. Government Representatives are servants of the people, not their masters. So, we must work to "Nullify" unconstitutional laws, bills and executive orders designed to control the citizens, minimize their independence or reduce their freedoms, e.g. Real ID Act, Patriot Act, Military Commisions Act (Eliminating Habeas Corpus), Free Speech zones. We need to re-establish a sovereign government with sovereign borders and sovereign money with honest and loyal statesmen instead of multinational corporate hinchmen.

I would be interested to see what you have to say about this blog here...

As a Libertarian-conservative, I find that it is a good platform to encompass a lot of good ideas, and not just the traditional "way." Thanks!
