The Frederick Douglass Foundation

The Frederick Douglass Foundation is a public policy and educational organization which brings the sanctity of free market and limited government ideas to bear on the hardest problems facing our nation. A newly formed organization, we are pro-active in developing our ideas with the assistance of elected officials, scholars from universities and colleges and community activist. Through publications such as e-magazine The Freedom Journal,
lectures and special events, we will distribute those ideas to policy makers and key opinion leaders to make meaningful change

Our goals are to educate, enhance, and empower:

A. By being a liaisons to Black, Christian, Conservative candidates, party and elected officials.

B. We will reach out to educate the social, cultural, spiritual, and civic rights needs of our
nation.

C. We will train political workers, volunteers, and candidates as leaders in the political
arena.

D. Provide tools for improving the economic status of the individuals, families businesses
within the targeted communities, thus, enhancing the quality of life.

E. Assist families in their efforts to remain safe and self-sufficient through education and
training.

F. Develop community outreach projects that educate the community on housing, medical
information, job training projects, and literacy development.

We plan on presenting position papers in the following areas:

Providing a sound, basic education to every child.

Crushing tax burdens on families and businesses.

The costly, immoral, and destructive welfare state.

Lack of economic opportunities for all citizens.

A decline of individual freedom and self-reliance.

We believe:

We are a land of liberty where natural rights of individuals precede and supersede the power of the state.

We are a constitutional republic in which government power is limited and employed for the purpose of providing legitimate public goods rather than for the benefit of insiders and narrow interest groups.

We are a free market in which persons, individually or collectively, have the natural right to sell goods and services to willing buyers, and in which the individual pursuit of economic opportunity benefits all.

We are a free society where citizens solve social problems not only through government but also by working together in families, neighborhoods, churches, charities, and other private, voluntary organizations

I apologize for being gone so long and not posting. I've been really busy travelling, talking and strategizing. I'm back at it though and I just want you to know I'm back and my newest blog on my policy stances is up and available for your reading, critique, comment or anything else you may want to do with it. This one is my general stance on taxes. I found it appropriate since the tax day is coming soon. Enjoy and I hope to hear from you.

LOL Easy how the Dems hold onto black voters-WELFARE.....magic word, they tell them Republicans want to quit rewarding them for sitting home having kids with men they aren't married to & want them to go to work. I am not being ugly-I live in AL & this is exactly what ACORN told black voters in Birmingham & probably Montgomery & Selma too (those I don't know about 1st hand). That is a Republican AKA McCain won they would have to go to work-that we would take their welfare & they would lose all their food stamps, housing, they won't get extra money for baby's dad being in prison & so on. And guess what Birmingham the one county that really went blue-thank goodness rest of state saved AL & kept it Red.

Timothy, thanks for the invite. I'm not black, however I have wondered how the Democrats have such a hold on the majority of the black vote. I'm 42 years old, kind of in-between genX & the baby boomers. My father was quite a bit older when I was born - 47. He was born in 1919; he & his family were Republicans in West Tennessee when the Republican parts WAS the party of black people, in that area.
