Most have taken care of our health care policies the way we are supposed to run our lives, INDEPENDENTLY. I strongly object to the elite few now threatening to take away my independent choice of health care insurance and replacing it with a rationed policy.

My name is Michael Brennan. I am setting up a campaign to run against a liberal democrat in my State district. I would love to have good ideas on how to better health care beside increasing the funds and watch them get thrown away in waste and mismanagement. PA, NJ and NY are finding large sums of money being lost because of fraud, human error and mismanagement of allocated funds by double and triple billings. I would love to hear from people in the industry on what they need to get the job done correctly.

It seems that Republicans are finally forming a stance on healthcare after 8 years of neglect. The Republican minority leader in the Senate has named a committee of four senators. They also finally recognize the effect on our economy with healthcare costing 16% of GDP.

Hi, I’m Katie, I’m new to Rebuild the Party, but I am so excited about Sarah Palin, and really just ready to help further the conservative agenda! I have been really active in Team Sarah, and just found this site! I’m looking for ways to get involved. Every day I mark it down on my Sarah Palin Calendar, so that at the end of the year I know I did everything I could possibly do. I just think having a calendar with a cause reminds you ever day to do something proactive!

Stranded wind,
I am a little confused. Are you from VT or Iowa? Punish what nonperformance? Who did not perfoman? The Doctor,Nurse. And when the Federal level gave medicaid back to the State level, was the Federal level doing a better job? And a single payer....vs 3rd party payers? You are very angery...I got that. I am just trying to understand.

Hello everyone,
I have read all the post and I have a few things I would like to input. I am a 20 yr veteran of long term care-hospice nurse. I have left that field 18 months ago and I now work in a pharmacy. (Boo we can discuss how long you MIGHT be able to be in your home with hospice. There are many factors that let you stay or not) First of all Medicaid was handed over from the Federal level to the state level in the late 80's. You can find out what your state can do for you at a site called Medicaid state by state description and plans. also info at www.cms:hhs.gov/medicaidgeninfo/
Now the medicaid State funding is not controlled by age population. So what I am saying is a State that has a large population of older adults would get better funding than a state with a younger age population that would be the smart thing but no it is not done like that. In fact the last I checked Iowa whose population is older adults ranks 48 in medicaid funding....Medicare is part A and B coverage and now the wonderful Med D plans. The Federal level thought it was wise to give that to Insurance Co. Stupid move on their part. Because as we all know...an Insurance man wants to SELL you insurance. That is how he makes his living. And 9 out of 10 reciepts of the MED D plan don't have a clue on what they have bought or what it covers or what the hell a DONUT HOLE is! I sound mad over this...but really I am not. I have read everything that every one has posted and I just want to make sure you understand the knot hole of a mess the system is. And the V.A. champass, express script. ya they are a mess too. I by far do not want universal health care. But what we have is going to take years to fix. And firstandforemost Personal Responsibility of the consumer of their health is what needs to happen.
Not " I need my little white pill's filled" UMM you take 4 little white pills sir what are we looking for? Or our favorite at the Pharmacy " Even with my Insurance I still have a co-pay?" UMM you have Medicaid...and your tier states you still pay a dollar.Or 2.10 or 5.10 depending on what tax bracket you fit in. And yes it is true no over the counter mediction is covered. (This is in Iowa only.) I could move on to name brand vs generic and why the State of Iowa has not moved to using generics instead of name brand. Or oh even better...the 4 dollar prescription plans love those....

In the article however the patient was cognizant enough to want an opportunity for a better medicene denied by Britian's universal healthcare administration. In this case he could not even pay for all or a fraction unless he travels outside of Britian - that is an example of government overreaching it's intended scope.

Me too. I love life but its not meant to go on forever . . .
Boo Comment by Boo on December 3, 2008 at 7:23pm
Agreed SW. I heard a stat a few years ago from an insurance company that said that about 80% of your lifetime health care expenditures are incurred on the in the last 6 months of your life. If I have any choice in the matter, I'll just do hospice at home and save everyone a bunch of money.
