Hey Karl, I can and I do when given the opportunity. However, that really negates the need for a networked group like this. While I am a massively big advocate of the idea that you get nothing done unless you do it in your own neighborhood, I think a network of people with a certain skill can have a broader affect in a different venue. Things such as the internet. If we don't think in these terms, we also prove that we didn't learn the lessen Obama's machine should have taught us. Tradition now must be married with innovation to be effective. What a group like this could potentially be with a little focus on branding, could widen the appeal of the party overall in venues other than the traditional one. If the result from such a group is not forward moving activity, the value of a group ceases. As you can see, it is already minimal. We otherwise have what I think I seeing here, folks come, join and not return because not action to support the party is occurring. Other user groups, when effective, have a direction. That is key to what I'm saying.

Get involved with you local Republican committee and help develop creative marketing and communications solutions for them. I just joined the committee in my town tonight and I'm already working on a new newsletter design (both off and on-line versions), birthday cards for teens on their 18th birthday (thanks for the idea Robert.) downloadable PDFs for local Republicans to share with friends and neighbors. There's lots to do and a lot can be done. Roll up the sleeves and go to it. We're not talking about forming a consulting firm here. We're letting folks know that there are conservative-thinking designers in the creative community. We're not all flaming liberals.

Ok, so here's the deal. We have a community of people who consider themselves conservative designers. Cool for me. However, it seems a little on the dead side. If we have a skill to exploit, what are we doing with it. What are we doing to help the cause. I poked around for a few days before asking the question/making the statement. That is to say this: What are we doing with it. It's nice that we have a community but should we consider a course of action or a manner in which to be a greater component in the cause. To become useful and even key to the visuals of the future of the party? What are we going to do with this?

This is not to criticize but to direct a discussion to this point. If we got it, shouldn't we be using it?

It's very nice that Mr. Willington (I'm finally getting the name right) checks these out for us. So many. So little time.

And yet, no big hurry. Careful is better than fast.

This sort of wisdom is at Intellectual Redneck .Com. If the wisdom isn't there yet, it will be. No hurry.
