I'm cross-posting this from something I just posted in the Code Red Group to see if we get any differing points of view.

In short, the GOP has maintained a long history and tradition of political clout and visibility dating back to the formation of our country. But as portions of the electorate become more ill-informed to favor an entitlement society, and with media outlets becoming increasingly biased in their reporting, the old model of waiting for Brand X to faulter in order to re-claim the majority has demonstrated that we can no longer rely on such a business model in order to maintain a position of leadership.

Some would say that the GOP lost in 2004 and 2008 because it failed to deliver on its promise of freedom and prosperity under President Bush's context of "compassionate conservatism." If you agree with these sentiments, how can technology help the GOP develop a better business model, and what specific tools, strategies and tactics should they employ in order to gain a sustainable advantage that improves integrity, accountability and responsiveness to constituents in order for the party to live up to its promise?

It needs to be a two pronged attack. The fact is that the electorate as a whole is highly undereducated when it comes to politics and the issues surrounding. They tend to vote on emotion rather than reason, because our education system has failed to provide a solid foundation in civics (most likely by design) and our culture have been sabotaged by a deceitful, anything goes, leftist media.

Therefore, we must revolutionize the way in which we reach the masses. The ability to deliver a quality message has been hogtied by our inability (or unwillingness) to reach the intended recipients in a mode or fashion that is attractive to them (e.g. new media).

Short term goal: outreach and mobilization through new media (blogs, Twitter, Facebook, My Space)
Long term goal: reeducation, realignment of the value stream (e.g. - the very damaging videos from the last election cycle that did not get widely distributed such as the catholicvote.com video and burning down the house)

I firmly believe that the best tool available currently to spark and mobilize grass roots conservative activism is Twitter. For instance over the last couple of days there has been a rash of activity around the #TCOT movement to call, write, harangue, what have you, the Congressmen and Senators that were not standing firm to conservative principles by voting for the auto bailout.

Go to www.topconservativesontwitter.org and read the Twitter 101 guide. Twitter will not make sense until you jump in and get involved, but you must get involved.

I think the GOP should be wise in the ways of the Internet, mobile communications techhology, and other new ways to get the message out.

As to the failure of the GOP in 2004 and 2008 elections, I don't think that has anything to do with compassionate conservatism, It has to do with selling out, basically, trying to gain votes by looking more like liberals and Democrats. Thje GOP needs to return to its core values, and use the latest cutting edge communication technology to get the word out. We basically need to re-educate an entire generation that has been dumbed down by the public school system.

The re-education should include the reading of a classic, "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, which shows where a Democrat/liberal based society can ultimately lead.
