John Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." In August, you will have the opportunity to help your country and yourself as we fight Obama Care.

A townhall meeting on "Health Care Reform" will take place in Thursday night, August 6th, 2009 at 7:00. The location is the War Memorial Building in Dickson, Tennessee. This is Congressman John Tanner's district, and although Tanner won't be there this is a great opportunity to send him and other Blue Dogs a message. Nationally Syndicated Talk Host Steve Gill (heard locally on 1510 am WLAC 8-11 am Mon-Sat.) will moderate the Town Hall meeting. County Mayor Bob Stone will be among those in attendance.

Please, if at all possible attend. Try to arrive at 630, with signs and video cameras. We will have a brief rally before the event and after the event, we will again rally. Steve Gill and I will say a few words after the townhall meeting. This month we will be asking you give of your time a lot! This is important for your country. Take the time and drive over to Dickson for this event!

Don't forget to check in for updates on Teapartynation.com!

Congressman Jim Cooper, unlike so many, is actually meeting with constituents during this recess. We must let him know our thoughts about national healthcare and remind him, he works for Tennessee, not Pelosi or Obama.

Cooper's scheduled meetings are:
West End Middle School on 8/14 at 9am;
Mt. Juliet Rotary on 8/17 at noon;
Joelton Civitan Club on 8/18 at 6pm
8/24 at the Wild Horse Saloon at noon.

Find the event you can go to. Go, ask him questions and let him know how you feel. Take a video camera and record what he says. Two of these events are being held by private groups, the Civitan and Rotary. You may not be able to get into those, but if you cannot, be out front with signs. Also, remember, it is illegal to disrupt a meeting and unlike those on the left, we in the tea party movement do not advocate breaking the law.

I'm posting these as events on here. There is also a 5th event I have been made aware of and will post shortly.

Remember, now is the time to stand against national health care. The life you save maybe someone you love!

Friends,

The Summer is upon is and the Obama/Pelosi/Reid axis of fiscal evil continues to roll on. We must stop them and do it soon. With that in mind, we are having a leadership meeting on June 13th in the Nashville area.

The purposes of this meeting are:

1. To plan coordinated activities over the summer to pressure our Senators and Congressmen to vote no on such things as National Health Care, Cap and Trade, Spending and Taxes.
2. To set a list of goals we want the movement to achieve.
3. To set up a tea party contract for Tennessee that we can present to candidates so that they can endorse us.

If you want to be involved in the leadership of the Tea Party movement, please RSVP to me either on Facebook or on my email Judsonwheelerphillips(at)gmail(dot)com.

Our meeting location is TBA. I am waiting to see how many people can make it before committing to a meeting room (there will be a cost involved).

Part of this work can be done online. I’m going to set up a closed group on Teapartynation.com and encourage everyone who wants to participate to let me know and I will get you access to that group.

Finally, I am also going to invite members of the National Tea Party Leadership Coalition to attend. I do not know if they will be able to, due to the distance, but I would like to see some coordination between our groups. We have reached the point where we must all work together or we will all fail!

Please let me know your thoughts. Please let me know if you can make it!

The first Tipton County Tea Party will be held on Memorial Day, 25 May 2009, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The location is Shelton Park, which is at the corner of Highway 51 and Church Street in Covington, Tennessee. We have permission to park at the Church and at the Senior Center, both are next to the park. Bring your friends, your creative signs (family friendly, please) and your patriotism! Feel free to dress up in Revolutionary Era garb as well. Prizes may be given to the most authentic Revolutionary Era outfit, and the best signs!

This is a non-partisan event designed to ignite the fires of patriotism in the hearts of all citizens of Tipton and the surrounding counties. There will be speeches on our freedoms and on the perils of huge government spending and taxation to the economy and to our liberties. We hope to have balloons for the children, copies of the Constitution, a List of Grievances that everyone can add to and sign, and much, much more! To protest all of the pork in the federal spending bills and budgets, bring some cans of Pork & Beans. They will be donated to local food banks.

Please spread the word to your friends, family, coworkers and neighbors. The larger our numbers the more our elected officials will listen to our message! See you on Memorial Day!

Today is the day! At Noon, we are visiting all three of Bart Gordon's offices to remind him that he works for Tennesssee, not Nancy Pelosi! This rally becomes even more important as the House Energy Committee, which Bart Gordon is a member, considers Cap and Trade legislation. Cap and Trade will add thousands of dollars a year to our individual energy costs. It will kill the economy and millions of jobs. For soccer moms, their minivans and SUVs will be a thing of the past.

Come and join us at one of Bart Gordon's offices, today at noon.
His offices are:

Murfreesboro Office
305 West Main Street
Murfreesboro, TN 37130
Phone: (615) 896-1986

Cookeville Office
15 South Jefferson
Cookeville, TN 38501
Phone: (931) 528-5907

Gallatin Office
100 Public Square, B-100
Gallatin, TN 37066
Phone: (615) 451-5174

Bring signs telling Bart Gordon to vote against Cap and Trade, against more spending and more taxes. Vote against National Health Care, Amnesty and Silencing Talk Radio!

If you can not be there in person, you can still participate by calling his office and telling Bart that he works for us, not Pelosi!

Remember, this fight is not over after today. We still need your help. Invite your friends to join this Facebook group and also to join our site, Teapartynation.com. We must continue to fight until we stop the Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda and run them out of office!

Thank you and God Bless America!

The House Energy and Commerce committee is, this week, considering the Cap and Trade Bill. Chairman Henry Waxman is fast tracking this 1000 page bill, which will kill our economy for a vote THIS WEEK. Bart Gordon is on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He is a vote that must be peeled away. Bring signs to the Tea Party on Thursday telling him to vote no on this bill. Call, fax and email him, telling him to vote no on this bill. Go out and recruit five of your friends to call, fax or email him and tell him to vote no on this bill. This bill must be stopped now before it stops our economy and our children's future!

This Thursday at noon is the Bart Gordon Tea Party! Be there!

A few reminders before the event.

First, this event is about Bart Gordon. It is a reminder that he works for Tennesseans, not Nancy Pelosi. Please make your signs accordingly.

Things we want to tell Bart Gordon:
1. Vote no on the massive spending increases.
2. Vote no on any new taxes or tax hikes
3. Vote no on National Health Care
4. Vote no on cap and trade.
5. Vote no on Amnesty.

This is not an exhaustive list. Use your own creativity.

If you cannot attend, call, fax or email Bart Gordon's office and let him know how you feel!

Finally, if anyone has a bullhorn we could borrow for the Murfreesboro event, please email me.

I look forward to seeing you there!
