Property taxes in a Rust Belt area are a killer even for the working. I like to stay retired in this glorious mess. We have real pizza and bagels. Ethnic restaurants are not chains. I like being able to pick up international newspapers at my corner store. I practice my Spanish at the Colombian bakery. I love being able to be in 10 minutes of any ethnic fair or grocery.

Only two issues for us Urban Republicans - cut taxes and cut BS spending.

I am trying to decide to whether to take on Democrat State Rep Jennifer Mann in the 132nd State Congressional District here in Allentown in 2010 or build myself up to take on U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) in 2012. So yeah, wish me luck. Hey anyone have $2500 I could use in this endeavor????????????????

That was my initial thought, but it seems like they're working on British welfare reform. There was a good piece on them on NRO yesterday. The Tories have been...less than stellar under David Cameron, but these guys seem at least to understand the role of the family in combating urban poverty.

Cheers,

A. J.

There's a thinktank associated with the British Conservative party called the Center for Social Justice which has been doing a lot of their urban policy. The website is here:

I haven't looked over all their policy stuff and some of it may be too big-government for our tastes here, but it is a place to start.

the same as the GOP platform but in a language that resonates with a modern, tech driven crowd, who also enjoys the language of the "experts" in their respective field

Hi, I’m Katie, I’m new to Rebuild the Party, but I am so excited about Sarah Palin, and really just ready to help further the conservative agenda! I have been really active in Team Sarah, and just found this site! I’m looking for ways to get involved. Every day I mark it down on my Sarah Palin Calendar, so that at the end of the year I know I did everything I could possibly do. I just think having a calendar with a cause reminds you ever day to do something proactive!
