Running for the Republican Nomination for Virginia's Office of Attorney General
--Family Man, Lifelong Republican, and Proven Winner--
Dave Foster began his career working for conservative
Congressman Bob Daniel, Jr. of Virginia’s 4th Congressional District. In 1996, he was the Arlington County Chairman for Senator John Warner’s campaign. In 2007, he was the Chairman of GOPAC-Virginia, which provided training and raised money for Republican candidates throughout the state. He is a 25-year member of the Arlington Republican Committee.
Dave Foster was elected twice county wide to the Arlington School Board, in 2003 with 62 percent of the vote. As Chairman, he successfully stood up for conservative values in a county dominated by Democrats, cutting debt, improving school safety, ending racial preferences in school assignments, and opposing bilingual education.
--An Accomplished Attorney. A Conservative Ready to lead.--
Dave Foster has been a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. since 1990. He has extensive experience with complex litigation and investigations involving the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and other agencies as well as state attorneys general. He has represented businesses and taxpayers from the Commonwealth of Virginia to the U.S. Supreme Court.
--Keeping Virginians Safe from Internet Predators--
Attorney General Bob McDonnell appointed Dave Foster to his Internet Safety Task Force. As a concerned father of two, Dave is sensitive to the dangers that internet predators pose to our children. As Attorney General, he will continue efforts to protect our children and he will expand the fight against other forms of internet fraud and abuse.
--Form a Task Force to Combat Waste and Fraud
Attorney General McDonnell’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit has effectively combated fraud and abuse committed against Virginia’s Medicaid program. Now, Dave wants to expand this effort to all state agencies and local governments. The Attorney General’s office should be able to investigate fraud or waste wherever taxpayer dollars are involved. This will remove local politics and will provide experts in the field to protect taxpayers.
--Keep our Elections Clean--
The success of our democracy depends on honest elections. Everyone legally entitled to vote should be able to do so, but no one should be able to register or vote illegally. Our Attorney General should be authorized to investigate allegations of voter fraud anywhere in the Commonwealth. And the brave men and women wearing our nation’s uniform should never have their absentee ballots disqualified because of bureaucratic problems they did not create.
