Republicans must work better together in Florida

I am in a unique position to report on the development of the post-Bush Republican Party in Northwest Florida, one of the most conservative parts of the nation. There is a strong military presence here. McCain won here, with over 56,600 votes to Obama’s 23,600, despite no real monetary support($5,000) from RPOF (Republican Party of Florida) and McCain national providing much support. We were a Level 1 county in 2004 and “demoted” to a Level 2 in 2008, yet we exceed our own expectations for turno… Continue

Sen. Mel Martinez (R-FL) won't run for re-election in 2010

Sen. Martinez won’t run for re-election in 2010

By Aaron Blake, The Hill

Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) announced Tuesday that he will not seek reelection in 2010, passing on what looked to be one of the most difficult reelection battles in the country.

Martinez, 62, has been saying for weeks that he intended to run again but would wait until January to make an announcement. Instead, he announced less than a month after the 2008 elections that he is passing on another term.

Martinez did not indi… Continue

Hello Fellow Republican,

In January 2009, the Republican Party will be a party out of power. To facilitate dialogue regarding the re-emergence of the Party, I have started a blog called
Plaintalk from the Texas Hill Country - It's My Party Too!

Plaintalk will be focused on the emerging battle for the “heart
of the GOP and the future of America
“.  It will do so by chronicling breaking news feeds and political commentary from local, state and national news sources.

The blog will be updated on a daily basis.  Readers can also sign up for a free online daily newsletter.  I encourage you to visit my blog and I hope that you find it informative. Your comments and feedback are welcome!

Plaintalk can be reached by email: mcgrody@gmail.com or by phone: 830-446-6150

I dont like how his followers recite him as if he had gospel written about him, too many quotations and less thought process. Sarah to me is from the north west and saw what happemed to us under clinton. when i talked with sarahs mom, met her at campaign h q i was even more impressed

E.

Do you have a plan or suggestion to help rebuild the Republican party?

I look forward to working with you and all Republicans to return this nation to its conservative Republican background and return those states we lost back to the right color - Red.

Virginia, Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Iowa all former Red states. How is the time for grassroots Republicans to stand up for the right and fight for the basics the GOP has stood for.

With the election of Joseph Cao in Lousianna and taking a Democrat seat, things are starting to look up for 2010.

With the Gov of IL in trouble trying to sale a senate seat, Democrates are on the ropes. Now is the time for Republican Grassroots to move as a party to share the Republican message.

Never give up, Never quit, Never fail, Always reaching, the GOP will be back.

Hi, I’m Katie, I’m new to Rebuild the Party, but I am so excited about Sarah Palin, and really just ready to help further the conservative agenda! I have been really active in Team Sarah, and just found this site! I’m looking for ways to get involved. Every day I mark it down on my Sarah Palin Calendar, so that at the end of the year I know I did everything I could possibly do. I just think having a calendar with a cause reminds you ever day to do something proactive!

I haven't emailed her yet. I was waiting to hear what you had to say lol. I thought maybe you were going to do it. Hey! The Bay Patriots meeting was a great success. Sure wish you'd been there. Almost 100 people and growing. We discussed committees, mission, etc. It's a good group and all seem to be pretty enthuiastic. Derrell Day is good at keeping it orderly and focused. We were able to establish an Education Committee that will work with the schools and Constitution Day, a fundraising/event committee, and we are going to have a committee that will go to all of the meetings of the local government, and research anything they might be doing clandistinely. We began watching Michael Badnariks Constitution course...I bought a copy of it from him. Nearly everyone stayed for it and really liked it. We will be continuing with it until it's finished.
