My concern is for the future of our Country. I want to do what is necessary to keep our Country strong. I will be retiring from the military soon and I am considering a career in politics in my home state of Texas. I do not know if I could run for office, but I've been told that I'm a pretty smart guy.

In 2005, Christine Todd Whitman, former head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under George W. Bush, published her book entitled: “It’s My Party Too: The Battle for the Heart of the GOP and the Future of America.
Among other things, Whitman states, “Moderates have an indispensable role to play — we must bring the Republican Party, and American politics generally, back toward the center. But that won’t happen easily. It is time for Republican moderates to assert forcefully and plainly that this is our Party too, that we not only have a place, but a voice — and not just a voice, but a vision — a vision that is true to the historic principles of our party and our nation.”
In January 2009, the Republican Party will become a party out of power.
