"Conservatives Make a List to Measure Candidates’ Commitment "

"In what was being dubbed a purity test when it leaked out to reporters on Monday, the proposal would require the party to withhold campaign money and endorsements from candidates who do not adhere to at least seven principles on the checklist."

"But it was also likely to inflame moderate party members who have been urging the party to resist pressure from activists — spurred by commentators like Glenn Beck on the Fox News Channel and leaders of the diffuse Tea Party movement — to move againContinue

Republicans Versus Independents

Republicans Versus Independents

Recent news reports and polling strongly indicate that people self-reporting as Independent voters are growing disenchanted with many of the policies of the Obama administration.

On the surface, this should give a shot of confidence to the Republican party struggling to reassert itself after resounding electoral setbacks in the 2006 and 2008 elections.

But a curious thing is happening with the ranks of Independent voters: most of the peopleContinue

The Future Challenge of Republican Health Care Reform

I definitely don't like the health care reform bill passed by the House of Representatives.

I'm making an educated guess that I won't like the “watered down” Senate bill either.

And assuming passage in the Senate, I suspect I will not like the combined conference bill that finally emerges for the President to sign.

That is no surprise because I am a Republican with definite conservative economic views.

But, this is not the apocalypse. This is not the end of mankind or civilization.

It is di… Continue

My Inner Redneck...

Evidently it is in the news that the Fort Hood gunman is severely wounded and in great pain, even though he has survived and is likely to recover...whatever "recover" means...

He is being given massive amounts of pain killers...but I have to ask, why bother????

What a perfect way to extract retribution for his traitorous, bloodthirsty crimes...withhold the pain killers...

I'm all for sending a Predator drone aircraft to "neutralize" this guy...after the medical staff role his hospital bed out… Continue

Maybe World War III Isn't Such A Bad Idea

The politically correct approach to the terrorist attack at Fort Hood a week ago seems to be to make excuses for the man who did the shooting and claim he was mentally deranged just like any other rampage killer in the United States.

I think this is completely deluded thinking.

Just because we are able to reconstruct a terrorist crime in retrospect and find that the perpetrator was mentally unbalanced does not mean that an act of terrorism has not occurred.

All of the 14 victims are still dea… Continue

Mr.R.O.C. Thank you for your kind words, it is indeed an honor to have you commented as you have.
I also enjoy and appreciate your candid opinions and your willingness to get in the middle of the fight for our party's political soul. ( they don't make it easy on this site )
Although I am probably a little more to the right of you, I am in agreement with in most of your positions, including modifying some of our party's ways to get rid of this Socialist nightmare.
I have seen with some of the bloggers on this site that if they have it their way we will have a solid 40 % of the vote everytime we have an election thus assuring defeat time and time again, this is unacceptable......
Please continue your good work, people like you are so sorely needed to turn our party around.
Again thank you , you have made my day..

Politics is the art of the possible.

For better of for worse, it is the way that things get done in the world.

Better to join the fray than sit wistfully or bitterly on the sidelines.

The world is there for us to change.
