Thanks for the address. I signed it, and have already written to good ol' Chuck Schumer, and the White House about it. I fear how this will affect our country if it is passed.

Join Freedom Not Frear...fight "card check"

In a closed-door meeting Tuesday, President Obama told over 100 top union officials that “we will pass the Employee Free Choice Act.”

It’s now clear that President Obama, Big Labor, and their left-wing allies in Congress, will attempt an unprecedented power grab that is a mortal threat to our economy and our democratic values.

This is being done in a stealth manner because its backers know that this bill will not pass if the American people understand its destructive nature.

To expose and sto… Continue

Following two election cycles in which Republicans saw Democrats best
them in technological innovations, the Republican National Committee
is throwing open its doors to conservative technophiles for a
technology summit to get input on how to improve.

Bloggers, Web 2.0 fans and others who see technology as the next step

POLITICO's run down of the RNC race...a good read

Politico's guide to the RNC chair race
By: Alexander Burns
December 18, 2008 09:50 AM EST

The six contenders for Republican National Committee chair are rolling out every gimmick, plan and endorsement in the hopes of gaining an edge—any edge—in the tight contest for the GOP’s top job.

Just Tuesday, Ken Blackwell, the former Ohio secretary of state, announced that he was forming a ticket with Texas Republican Party Chair Tina Benkiser, who… Continue

Dear Saul,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading articles and watching your videos.. I can see why you and Ken Blackwell are the leading two candidates for the GOP Chair position. If current comments mean anything in the blogosphere, you're right up there. My northern friends say you 'have to be the man'.

I have, however, a tough question for you. It concerns the Ron Paul supporters, or a great many of them. Ron Paul and his supporters, through a very, very warped definition of Non-Interventionism, prefer to let any US ally fight their own battles alone, no matter what odds of evil anti-democratic force they may encounter. The main target subject of their fanatic view is to never provide aid, money or defensive measures, even no Congressional resolutions in favor of ISRAEL.

I find this despicable. They distort historical truths about the relationship of Israel and her allies, as well as the US relationships with all allies in general. If we ever use military force or related services and products abroad, we're the "Evil American Empire Interventionists" and "Neocons" and "Un-Christian".

This is a hard core belief and propaganda note of a large quantity of Ron Paul supporters. To even think in any way to support Israel is to be anti-conservative and evil.

Their words, not mine sir. I've been there, I've researched Middle East politics and history most of my life, I know the true history of Israel, and I'm not even Jewish.

When will Republican leadership take a firm and pronounced stand against, at least, Ron Paul's fanatic foriegn policy?

Ron Paul, just this last week, would not even sign off on the resolution insisting HAMAS abide by UN accords to recognize Israel's sovereignity and to stop firing rockets before the cease-fire could exist. Ron Paul refused, in a wonderful H.o.R. floor performance, waffling around that if he signed it, he'd have to sign one for HAMAS too that benefitted them.

WHEN will Republican leadership spend some time to re-educate our ignorant masses that it IS conservative to stand by one's innocent allies, long-term loyalties and the cause of the just? Hell, if England gets attacked by Russia, Ron Paul will refuse to sign off on any military support to England too.

I find Ron Paul's enthusiastic example about how we should abandon all military and general aid support to Israel clear Anti-Semetism too. Some other GOP members agree about that, others don't want to bring it up just for the sake of avoiding an in-party fight with the guy. Democrats love the connundrum, its like Hillary versus Obama in their past primaries.

I'm sure we can win the next election without his supporters if necessary, just getting back on the platform of true Conservatism, without Ron Paul's radical version of Foriegn Policy. So many of his followers think he's the second coming of Jesus for crying out loud.

Thanks for your read of this, I just wanted your opinion or guesstimate of when this nonsense can be put down, and our party gets on with the new success track. We're having all sorts of new successes in our Texas areas. Delete Comment

Hello Fellow Republican,

In January 2009, the Republican Party will be a party out of power. To facilitate dialogue regarding the re-emergence of the Party, I have started a blog called
Plaintalk from the Texas Hill Country - It's My Party Too!

Plaintalk will be focused on the emerging battle for the “heart
of the GOP and the future of America
“.  It will do so by chronicling breaking news feeds and political commentary from local, state and national news sources.

The blog will be updated on a daily basis.  Readers can also sign up for a free online daily newsletter.  I encourage you to visit my blog and I hope that you find it informative. Your comments and feedback are welcome!

Plaintalk can be reached by email: mcgrody@gmail.com or by phone: 830-446-6150

I liked your "Conservative ideas can still win" piece. I do disagree that it was hypocrisy that caused the GOP to be thumped. I think the larger issue is that at some point an entire generation raised to believe in our schools that America only wants to kill native peoples and culture all over the world had to catch up with us, and that point was the Obama candidacy. I went to Catholic school for grade school and high school and only learned that everything we did in Vietnam was wrong. I learned nothing about economic growth and taxes, but lots about wealth redistribution. And the state university I went to only made these problems worse.

To some degree, a party has an educative role. Are there books or essays you recommend Republicans read? Would it be too much to ask for the GOP to make a reading list that's voluntary, and hold an occasional forum on some books that might be important?

Saul,

Do you have a plan or suggestion to help rebuild the Republican party?

I look forward to working with you and all Republicans to return this nation to its conservative Republican background and return those states we lost back to the right color - Red.

Virginia, Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Iowa all former Red states. How is the time for grassroots Republicans to stand up for the right and fight for the basics the GOP has stood for.

With the election of Joseph Cao in Lousianna and taking a Democrat seat, things are starting to look up for 2010.

With the Gov of IL in trouble trying to sale a senate seat, Democrates are on the ropes. Now is the time for Republican Grassroots to move as a party to share the Republican message.

Never give up, Never quit, Never fail, Always reaching, the GOP will be back.

Hi, I’m Katie, I’m new to Rebuild the Party, but I am so excited about Sarah Palin, and really just ready to help further the conservative agenda! I have been really active in Team Sarah, and just found this site! I’m looking for ways to get involved. Every day I mark it down on my Sarah Palin Calendar, so that at the end of the year I know I did everything I could possibly do. I just think having a calendar with a cause reminds you ever day to do something proactive!

So thanks for accepting! I look forward to working with all to find out some of the solutions we can come up with, for some of the troubles this nation is facing. I want to bring up dialogue and converse this with as many people. So If you have any ideas on whats wrong with this nation, or want to talk about ways to help our great nation, then just message me. I want to understand it all and learn from as many people as possible so that i can help contribute something to the nation that birthed me and has cared for me for so long.

Mr. Anuzis.....I noticed you posted some comments here on Rebuld The Party. I give you a great deal of credit for jumping into the fray. There are not many potential party leaders who are willing to get down in the dirt with those of us in the grassroots and who do not have the chance to vote on who the next chairman will be. Your participation, here, in this forum, says a great deal and gives me reason to view your candidacy in a positive light...a very positive light.
