I respect your view. I just can't call an unstructured comments section interactive. Your point about URLs reenforces the point that the design is meant to distribute data out. I am most likely a visitor passing through. I stopped by because the ...

stonewall- "too little interactivity..." This is great Website, it has a simple method of adding active URL's (links within the Website and also to the W3 and photos can be easily placed on your pages. There is a lot of interactivity between the...

First, the sub-prime appeared first because that is where people have the fewest resources to hold the loan in good standing. It is the canary in the cold mine. It is part of a larger theme of borrow and spend. It was just a matter of time until o...

Stonewall, you have a much better understanding of banking than do I. It's my understanding that banks had to have a certain percentage of loans of the risky variety. I have heard there is a snowball effect when loans are defaulted, & the downturn...

I have been buying gold since 2003. I am the only person on earth to do so and basically break even. Actually I think that the currency crisis in the 70s stemmed from foreigners. US Citizens were not allowed to buy gold from the Treasury, so the ...

"Stonewall: You have clearly said that the fed is a system of failures, but you dont support auditing it nor do you support aboloshing it. " Joe, fair critique. I would say that we need to define a mission for it. Dropping dollar bills from helic...

Oppps. Typo. You wouldn't get an argument from me if you said that Ben Bernanke and Alan Greenspan were incompetent boobs.

As I understand the gold standard, it didn't stop the Great Depression, and it didn't stop politicians from destroying the currency in the 60s and 70s. In fact, as I recall having currency convertible to gold led to massive redemptions by foreign ...

The problem isn't the punishment for success it is getting capital. Here is what Buffett said in his last annual report "Though Berkshire’s credit is pristine – we are one of only seven AAA corporations in the country – our cost of borrowing is no...

Actually all of the functions come from some degree of frustration. I have used other blogs, and strangely each has its own set of strength and weaknesses. Having worked in IT for a number of years I suspect that blogs aren't designed at all with ...

Those who innovate & risk don't do so much when punished for it. Excellent post. Getting government out of the way & not punishing success is a key & can be done, it's been done before. I vaguely remember hearing the term "new normal" before - la...

Couldn't agree with you more. People in my area are actually organizing to get behind candidates running for office in 2010 without even consulting the party. Some old timers believe you have to have the blessing of the party, but considering they...

There isn't much point in reading books with which you agree. You need to read ones which offer an alternative point of view. As I think I said before, I am not a fan of the Fed, but getting rid of it will not solve our country's problems. "The F...

Improving Blog Sites

Most of this is opinion. I tend to think that one of the biggest problems that the Republicans have is that the party doesn't listen well. It should be embarassing that the party picked a candidate who was pushed out of the race by a third party candidate. It shows there is a serious disconnect between the party and the district in upstate NY. I can tell you that there is a disconnect between the party and where I live in GA. To the extent that there is a disconnect blog space is a great way to… Continue

Understanding The New Normal

The government’s efforts to save the economy have met to date with mixed results. On the positive side, the larger banks have shown profits, with even Citigroup producing a profit of sorts.
