Tova-
No problem replying to the post where you were involved. To many, the truth is hard to accept. To others, they will see the truth and flat-out refuse to accept it.

There is no doubt that there is some sort of weird movement against Ron Paul, even amongst many so-called conservatives. For granted, Ron Paul is not a 100% conservative in today's definition, and I think that frightens people. Ron Paul doesn't hold back on what he says and speaks the truth no matter how painful that is to hear, and that scares the rest of them off.

Honestly, I hope that you do not leave here. With America caught in this dreadful 2 party system, we need to make this one (the one I am closest to) as good as it can be. Myself and the few others on here that lover freedom, free-markets, and liberty can't do it alone.

Thank you for your comment. My argument was meant to express my belief that public education has long abandoned rigorous intellectual education of the young; that lack includes abandonment of the study of the American Constitution as it was written by the founders. There are many intents in that document and one of them was to ensure that a state sponsored religion was not imposed upon the citizens, as had been in England from the time of Henry VIII through the brutal occupation of the regicide Cromwell, and well beyond. The first colonists who came to America were running from religious persecution, but they also were happy to force their version of Christian religion on others and thought it not incorrect to do so as they believed they were inspired by God. The genius of separation of church and state is that while the founders recognized and may have sought divine inspiration as individuals, they were not about to force it on a nation, which even in the late 1700's had diversified remarkably in matters of individual religious belief. Shrewd fellows. They looked to colonial experiences with the Puritan theocracy and with the Church of England and the religious wars of the past in Europe, and believed that a new nation could not survive if any particular religion was enshrined in the Constitution. That is why you will find no sponsorship of Christianity in the American Constitution, nor of any other religion.

So, I think it would be a mistake to teach that the Constitution is a Christian document developed and written by a group of Christian founders. Didn't happen. Only by teaching the complexities, can teachers get across to students the amazing genius of those men. By the way, I believe that one of the signers was Jewish. Can't remember which one, though.

Cheers!

Tova,

Do you have a plan or suggestion to help rebuild the Republican party?

I look forward to working with you and all Republicans to return this nation to its conservative Republican background and return those states we lost back to the right color - Red.

Virginia, Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Iowa all former Red states. How is the time for grassroots Republicans to stand up for the right and fight for the basics the GOP has stood for.

With the election of Joseph Cao in Lousianna and taking a Democrat seat, things are starting to look up for 2010.

Never give up, Never quit, Never fail, Always reaching, the GOP will be back.
