All candidates have pluses & minuses - Jesus is not going to come down to run for POTUS. We need to focus on 2010 right now; presidential horse race politics may be fun to talk about but Congress is where we can make a dent on the national scene now.

I think that we can survive such a program & the trouble it would take to get rid of it. I do also think it would be better to avoid it if possible. The child can survive burning his hand on a hot stove eye, but the recovery is nasty & the scar is...

Good points on political correctness Evelio. It goes back to the left wanting to be "liked" by the rest of the world & mistaking that for respect.

Complete idiocy from the Obama Adm. These goons want a show trial, & will love to go where 3K of our citizens were murdered to rub our noses in their ashes. It is time to unite.

We need no constitutional convention. What is written does well if followed. It does not need to be re-written - the dangers inherent in this are frightening. I don't think that the minds we have right now would do a better job than the founders d...

Jim does make a good point about the Alinsky tactic of making us live under our own "rules." Crist's campaign is already floundering pretty badly - it would be nice if he just pulled out of the primary. Not holding my breath, but it would be nice...

The Democrat's Great White Whale - Government Controlled Healthcare

They don't get it.

I'd say we all are familiar with the story of Captain Ahab's disastrous obsession with Moby Dick. His obsession cost him his life, the life of his crew, & also took away his living while he was alive. For the Democrats, it seems that Government Controlled Healthcare is their MoContinue

Third Party Perils & how the Republican Party can Inoculate Against Them

The NY-23 race is tightening; however, even if the absentees put Hoffman ahead, will it matter? I don't think so, because it's unlikely to put it beyond the "margin of theft." This could have been avoided & 1 less Democrat would have gotten a pass from the leadership to vote no on GC healthcare IF the Republican nominee had been one that Republicans could… Continue

All is not happy on the left side of the political aisle

We have these two gems. First, Moveon.org is planning to attack any Democrat who does not toe the line on government controlled healthcare & other statist, government control measures. I hope they do. It's funny that in the race to pass GC healthcare in the house, the stampede was from Democrats begging to be "Continue

All the Signs Were There

The Army psychiatrist suspected of killing 13 people at Fort Hood reportedly warned senior Army physicians in 2007 that the military should allow Muslim soldiers to be released as conscientious objectors instead of fighting in wars to avoid "adverse events."

According to The Washington Post, Major Nidal Malik Hasan was supposed to make a presentation on a medical topic during his senior year as a psychiatric resident at Walter Reed Medical Center.

Instead, Hasan lectured his supervisors

$900,000

The RNC/NRCC spent $900,000 on a candidate who not only was a horrible backroom choice, but also shafted everyone by endorsing the Democrat. What do the RNC/NRCC need to do to atone for this?

http://www.toledofreepress.com/2009/06/26/advancing-the-opposition/ has an article about the state of the Repubican party in Toledo, Ohio. I got it in an email from a Republican, so maybe that is good sign.

Robin, that was my intention, to get involved with the local party, by going to the dinner, but there are serious problems in my area, so I am seeking ways to do something more than those horrible phone calls i have done before. The local leader shut down the website that had articles and meeting announcements of the different groups, reportedly because he felt they were trying to go around him, so consequently there are no local websites and no contact info for these groups. He moved the main office downtown, and I frankly do not believe it is safe to wander around town at night, which is what I would need to do park there. It used to be in a much safer area. These other groups meet at libraries and offer so much more in ways to get involved.
