What I do not understand is I know that Latino’s are hard working people and they have strong family and Catholic values. This to me flies in the face of liberal democrats. The democrats do not care about the Latino’s, all they care about is getting their vote every four years. I feel for you my friend but if it gives you any reprieve I live in the liberal mecca of the Washington D.C. area. This area has never met a government program it did not like. Keep the faith and remember there are intelligent like minded people like you so you are not alone. Fight the good fight and never let the bustards get you down.

Hi,saw your response to Stephen. Well, I have some Hispanic heritage. It does not define me however.
You said the "redneck" image has to adjust, well I think rednecks are great and are the base. Redneck should not be code for racist. BUT...............Hispanics are Rednecks, too !!!! Hispanicky Rednecks. WORKERS. etc. This would weed out the ones who support illegal immigration and see white americans as the enemy to be overcome. It would build unity. Or else you risk Hispanic Conservatives deteriorating into a kind of variant of Democrats, same except they might want to keep God onthe Money. Building bridges, overthrowing negative stereotype of Rednecks all at once.

This is the way I would approach it. Because, aside from race/language they are pretty similar, conservative, family, God oriented people who like community and lower taxes, etc.
I like the ring of that.....Conservative Hispanic Redneck ! Am I crazy ?

I like what you had to say about changing the party. What shocks me about some of the democrats is how they say one thing at one point and turn around and act like they never said it later. For example, John Kerry specifically said that we knew Sadam had weapons of mass destruction, "because he used them on his own people". How do you deny a statement like that? It was based on facts everyone knew. But even more, I don't understand how Barny Frank could say Freddy and Fannie were fine and did not need changing not many years ago and still have influence over financial decisions at this point. And how does an agency that gives home loans to poor people have big bucks to give their CEO's and to give to Obama's campaign? And why isn't that a subject for investigation? How can they blame Bush, when these things are obvious? It seems like they can say anything they want, because they will all agree with each other and say it over and over again. It's crazy and it's irresponsible and disingenuous.

I'm looking to the republican party to be so much better than that, to be about truth and getting the job done. Thats' why I like Jindal and Palin, because both have been able to get tremendous things done without lying and manipulating. They stand for the right principles and did not wait for permission from the party elites. I would like to see more leaders like that and the party mobilizing us volunteers to support them all the ways we can.

Welcome to RtP.

Do you have a plan or suggestion to help rebuild the Republican party?

I look forward to working with you and all Republicans to return this nation to its conservative Republican background and return those states we lost back to the right color - Red.

Virginia, Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Iowa all former Red states. How is the time for grassroots Republicans to stand up for the right and fight for the basics the GOP has stood for.

The new Congress and a new President has been sworn in, but the results will be the same old agenda. Nothing new. Nancy, Harry and Barak will be feuding to see who is the boss of the Dem party. Now is the time for the Republican party to come together as the real party for change. Change to Real Conservative politics.

Who will be the voice for the GOP? Newt? Palin? Jendal?

Never give up, Never quit, Never fail, Always reaching, the GOP will be back.

Stephen
South Alabama Republican
