Jon A Greenspon What Happens When Legislators Fail to Support The People

People, let's not be fooled - One Republican signing onto a sloppy, Congressionally mismanaged bill hardly qualifies as "a bipartisan majority". Rather, Saturday - in a rare weekend session - the House of "Representatives" demonstrated history in completely NEGLECTING the majority of the voters they were elected to REPRESENT. As the proper means of government in the United States - a representative democracy, it is we the people who have the final say in our government's intrusions. Think abo… Continue

Mr. Right-of-Center What Is Patriotic?

In all fairness, disputing the results of the November, 2008 Presidential election is not patriotic. I, personally, think the United States would be better served by some policies other than those promoted by the current administration...and I voice those differences in appropriate venues. If I recall, the 2000 elections were quite contentious too. I didn't hear questions about secession after that election. I didn't see people carrying guns to public political events after that electio… Continue

asp One Disturbed Individual

I am one disturbed individual. I am sure not many of you will disagree with that statement if you have read very many of my comments of the past few days. After reading some of your comments posted at this site, I am somewhat confused. I was under the assumption this was to be a site on which ideas and comments could be submitted in regard to the reconstruction of the Republican party after the McCain debacle of 2008. I was so damn angry when I cast my vote, for the first time since I have bee… Continue

Anthony M. Del Pellegrino ARE MINNESOTANS GETTING A LUMP OF COAL FOR CHRISTMAS?

As many call a truce in political negativity for the Christmas holiday, some politicians and political wannabes wont be focusing on Santa or practicing any piety over the birth of Christ.

No,……. I am not talking about atheists.

Whatever they believe or do not believe is their business, not mine, and as long as they do not try to stifle my celebration of the holiday, their not celebrating it doesn’t bother me.

Anthony M. Del Pellegrino YOU CAN TURN RIGHT ON RED BUT DON'T TURN LEFT TO GET ELECTED

With the holidays upon us, family, friends, faith and other personal aspects in life come to the forefront, as they should. Although the world does not stop rotating, priorities do shift, at least for a few brief hours. Among one of the first fields of endeavor to experience a temporary cessation in hostilities is politics.

Anthony M. Del Pellegrino ARE NEW JERSEY REPUBLICANS ROLLING OUT A RED CARPET, WAVING A WHITE FLAG OR BOTH?

Recently, State Senator Sean Kean (R-Monmouth) and Assembly members Mary Pat Angelini (R-Ocean) and Dave Rible (R-Wall) endorsed Chris Christie for the Republican nomination for Governor.

I normally find myself in agreement with those lawmakers, usually.

However in this case I do not approve of their premature endorsement of a candidate who not only ha

Anthony M. Del Pellegrino WHERE OUR PRIORITIES MUST REALLY BE

After licking our wounds from this past election, the blogosphere is packed with suggestions and commentary regarding how to rebuild the Republican party. Many Republican activists and enthusiasts are debating who will be the face of our party as we go forward. At times I too have been eager to want to put forward a name that best represents us, but doing so does not help us establish the solid foundation that we need to build upon.

Jason Taylor Sometimes 58 = 97... or, "On Math, Reagan Wasn't Fuzzy, Wuzzy?"

Here's an interesting little bit of trivia that I've been quizzing some of my like-minded friends with lately: In the 1984 Presidential Election, name all of the states that Reagan lost. You don't have to name all of them, just tell me which states you think that Reagan probably wasn't able to win, and I'll then tell you how many of your guesses are correct. Now, since you are just going to go and Google the answer anyway, let me give you the answer. (drum roll, please) ... Minnesota and Was… Continue
