Last week, a member of RebuildTheParty.com introduced me to a principle called "Deliberative Dialogue". As I was researching this, I found a very interesting quote of the philosopher Aristotle that I think you should hear.
"We deliberate not abou… Continue
Ok, most everyone knows that the Federal Government collects on taxes on much more than just your income, right?
And I'm sure that most people know that the Federal Government financially sponsors all sorts of funding for projects in all of the States. On top of spending mon… Continue
My family has been the victim of numerous break-ins over the years, and I've finally figured who's behind it all. It amazed me to learn the identity of this jerk, and I'm sure that it'll make you stop and think.
Now, first of all I have to tell you about my father. I could regale you with the tales, but let it suffice that he is the very best man that I have ever had the privilege to know.
So anyway, back to the break-in artist.
My wife and I were just recently blessed with the birth of our f… Continue
Those of you who have read more than one of my posts know that I rarely possess the virtue of brevity. It's certainly something that I have to work on. In that spirit, I've decided to start a column called "In Short". Simply, this will be a collection of thoughts displayed to encourage free discussion, and thoughts that I feel are too self-evident to require any formal monologue. Why I am not a Reagan Conservative:
It's not that I don't revere the man. He is clearly one of the m… Continue
In the company of friends, I will admit that I am a cult fan of 80's TV. It's probably just because the shows remind me of my childhood years, but there are some things remembered which tend to parallel current life and events.
Did you ever see the show "The Greatest American… Continue
Here's an interesting little bit of trivia that I've been quizzing some of my like-minded friends with lately:
In the 1984 Presidential Election, name all of the states that Reagan lost. You don't have to name all of them, just tell me which states you think that Reagan probably wasn't able to win, and I'll then tell you how many of your guesses are correct.
Now, since you are just going to go and Google the answer anyway, let me give you the answer. (drum roll, please)

The Ron Paul supporters are certainly their own breed. They have many qualities that would certainly make them valuable teammates. They are unapologetically conservative, fiercely loyal and patently activist.
On the other hand, their highly idealistic nature leads many to believe that they are too inflexible to accept any platform which requires even their most lofty aspirations to be put on hold.
Where exactly do they stand on the issues? Can we find success by embracing them into our new pla… Continue
I've said both here and elsewhere that the GOP needs to be less concerned with winning elections and more concerned with winning hearts and minds. Well, this morning I found another reminder.
You see, I have the worst problem with emails. I keep receiving them, all sorts of them. I read most of them, many of them get caught by the spam filter, and some of them I just never actually open. It really just depends on who they're from, because it only takes a few months to find your "new" email addr… Continue
If there was ever clear evidence that the conservative message is alive and well, it can be found in the candidacy of Ron Paul in the 2008 Presidential Election. So many who took the time to seriously pay attention to his message were tremendously inspired.
So then why did he not cruise through the primaries and decisively win the nomination? Simply stated, not enough people took the time to seriously pay attention! His message was simply not constructed in a way where it could be accepted in b… Continue
The proponents of an auto industry bailout have persistently propped their argument on the need to save the hard working American auto worker. I believe that, if anything, the American auto worker needs to be saved from his own failed ideology. Here's what I mean:
As a survivor of the Motor City Meltdown, let me assure you that the Unionization of the American Worker was one of the greatest tragedies in our history as a Nation.
PLEASE don't start thumping the drum about how much good has come… Continue

In light of the recent events surrounding the Prop 8 vote in California, I'd like to share a thought sent to me on another forum, and offer my response.
Post:
It's unconstitutional to not allow homosexuals to marry. That law created in America was made up because of what the bible said about saudomy. So there are two reasons why not allowing gays to marry is unconstitutional; separation of church and state and equal rights for all.
Response:
Not exactly. Let me begin with a little bac… Continue
