Anyone know why no PACs or rich conservative benefactors aren't running media blitzes in Upstate NY against Sen. Schumer over the IndyMac bank collapse or Sen. Dodd in Connecticut over his Countrywide sweetheart mortgage deal?
Small-town newspaper ads, radio spots, local TV, internet ads, anything that would get the message out while keeping costs low. These two have huge glaring targets all over them.
The Schumer ad I've imagined would talk about the bank collapses and focus in on all the lines with people at IndyMac waiting for their money, back in the summer. Then the announcer discusses how Sen. Schumer let secret info slip about the bank's decline and caused the panic on that bank. "How can he be trusted when he acts to hurt the financial security of millions?"-kind of thing.
Countless newspaper ads asking Sen. Dodd to release his papers regarding the deal he got as a "Friend of Angelo" on his mortgage from the failed lender Countrywide. Run those throughout Connecticut weekly."When Will You Come Clean Sen. Dodd?"
Any feedback or ideas about this out there? Am I way off base? Are people too tired of campaigning or is the cost too high? Thoughts?
