Building something in life is always hard. You need to plan ahead and have a visualized goal for your construction. You have to foresee what obstacles may face your building : hurricanes, thunderstorms, and maybe earthquakes. It is always tough to build a structure thats not there at the moment, a structure that has to be fabricated within thought. Vision and resolve must accompany that thought and then the smarts and networking have to appear to make that dream come to life.

So if building something upon nothing is tough, it becomes even harder to imagine rebuilding something thats already been. How do you change your way of thinking to improve upon the previous design. How do you change others perception of your building? Will they approve of the new construction or be unwilling to accept the new structure.

These are the questions that we Republicans are starting to ask ourselves. What are the building blocks for our party? What will seal and cement the foundations of our building so that its effective in the future and doesnt collapse upon itself as its done?

One of the best ways to construct our building effectively will be: having the right people and resources on the job. So we need the right contractor, who will choose the right companies, and then the right companies who choose the right employees with talent.

So the Republican party needs the:

[]Right leadership-- they are the contractors of our structure
the leaders who gather the resources the right chairs for the comittees, the right governors,senators/representatives.
[]Right companies-- those are the emerging leaders of our party. We have them, it could be you, your neighbor, a Joe the plumber! But like any right company they must let themselves be known and take action. The Time is Now! They must emerge from the shadows.

[]Their employees-- Would be those that decide to support them; their families, their neighborhoods, and friends. These must all network and come upon a common thought of what the building should be and how it can be improved.

Improving a building requires a lot of thought once the vision of the rennovation is complete. What is needed? What needs to be taken out? How can we make it better. Most importantly what would be the right tools and resources for our party to use in order to build a greatly improved structure.

*Tools*

<>Networking--We must network it is very important to reach out to each other and sell our party. Create a coalition amongst ourselves.

<>Common consensus on ideals -- we need to know how to define our party, what we stand for generally, too many people have an abstract definition of what our party is

<>Marketing-- Sell it! How can you succeed at anything if you dont market it. Dont be ashamed of your party. Don't be ashamed to be a Republican. It sometimes feel as if your the only one, but believe me theirs so many of us.

<>Energy-- You cant lose it. You need to be excited. Why, because this is our country and we're contributing to it by being involved. Too many people live lives without purpose. We have it.

<>Patience-- Be very patient with others, when selling our party to them. Some won't accept at first. Some will be rude and dismissive. Some will shut the door in your face. But if your patient. You'll start to see the results.

<>Understanding-- Everyone comes from a different place with different views on lives. We need to understand that not everyone thinks the same and therefore we can't push ourselves on them too hard. "When we change the way we look at things the things we look at Change"--Dwayne Dyer

<>Approach-- Never force yourself unto others or seem hostile and annoying. You want to be the voice of reason. You want them to open themselves up to you, not have to shield themselves afraid you might attack.

With these tools, resources and right leadership we can restructure our party and build a better foundation for it. A stronger and united front in the face of any adversity that might come our way. We need to be strong these four years. We need to rebuild. We need to network and become the party that rises from the ashes and does the unexpected with this country. It can be done it just needs the drive and initiative to create this vision, this common and most important goal to the future of this great nation.

The networking aspect of this project will be the most challenging. We are individualisit as a party and as a nation. We need a way to emphasize our individuality and simultaneously come together to accomplish common goals. The true grassroots efforts of the future will technological and personal. My family has begun a small business that provides this type of networking. We are all fiercely Conservative in our values, and it would be a great honor to help in providing a means to a true grassroot movement. One of the actual neighborhood sites can be seen here. I'm looking forward to following the site and helping in anyway I can to move the party forward.

Ditto on the excellent points & very professional delivery! As far as product, we (IMHO) have only 1 part which is "broken" - fiscal responsibility & limited government conservatism. It's not really broken - just has been neglected. Great points on delivery & marketing also - in our local party we've been successful by attracting people, being nice & having fun with what we're doing. We have to hone the ability to argue our issues without being argumentative. Bold & positive leaders leading bold & positive people is powerful. Using the tools of the internet to communnicate with each other & facilitate activism is an idea whose time is here. We have an opportunity to greatly advance the conservative Republican platform, which in turn will greatly advance our country.
