Is it a good idea to reach out to Ron Paul supporters?

The Ron Paul supporters are certainly their own breed. They have many qualities that would certainly make them valuable teammates. They are unapologetically conservative, fiercely loyal and patently activist.

On the other hand, their highly idealistic nature leads many to believe that they are too inflexible to accept any platform which requires even their most lofty aspirations to be put on hold.

Where exactly do they stand on the issues? Can we find success by embracing them into our new plan for the Republican party, as many have voted for on rebuildtheparty.com?

One thing's for sure: We had better figure this whole mess out quickly, figure out just exactly who is going to be on our side in this, and start laying the foundation for success. Unfortunately, it seems like a "hot potato" issue that nobody really wants to take head-on.

I'd like to invite you to explore this topic with me. I have created the group "Committee on the Campaign for Liberty", and if you're interested in seeing exactly where they stand on the issues compared with us, please join. I believe that it is important for us to make every reasonable effort to understand these folks, and to include them in what we're doing here - if possible, to build a bridge between these obvious factions of our party. I hope that you think so too.

I say let RP supporters back in but if they bolt again, let them stay floating in the breeze without a voice. We either win together or lose seperately but we ALL lost, even RP supporters lost. They have alot of blame on them as well as GOP members do. So we ALL need to work together because third parties and third party candidates are NOT the answer and for a while, NEVER will be.

No: I'm mad at the RP supporters who sat on their hands during wartime and allowed Barack Hussein 0bama to get elected!

I wasn't thrilled about McCain, but I didn't pick up my bat and ball and run home crying to mommy, either.

Oh, and if you think your votes didn't make a difference, Repeat out loud three times

Oh yeah, someone said 'To follow no rule of law is anarchy.' That's not true, Anarchy means no rulers not no laws. Anarchy = total freedom/minimum security, Totalitarianism = total coersion/maximum security. All the other labels, such as democrat and republican really don't mean much as their platforms change and evolve. Just trying to clarify talking points.

If by 'reaching out to Paul supporters' you mean asking them to support the current RP philosophy , I'd say don't waste your time, you'll have more people leave the current RP. If you mean elect politicians that actually vote according to the republican core principles then yes of course reach out to the Paul supporters.

I don't think most republicans were mad at the Paul supporters, I think they were mad that the Paul supporters were calling them to the carpet for their blind loyalty.

I mean come on McCain was as liberal as any democrat in office, there was little to no difference between him and Obama. That statement I made doesn't make you mad that I said it, it makes you mad that it's true. That's the problem, the Paul supporters are the republican's it's you that have left the party, and of course the republicans want you back. *wink*

Well, if you folks who are asking "Is it a good idea to reach out to Ron Paul supporters" really want to know what Campaign for Liberty people think of the Republican Party leadership issues, you should go here:

http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=7398&cpg=1

They are currently discussing the "debates" from today for the leadership of the Party. I think you'll quickly see what they are concerned about, and why they are concerned.

Thanks,
Tim

Amschel Rothschild wrote, "Let me issue and control a nation's money and I care not who writes the laws." It is time that we start realizing this.

As Doug pointed out above, headway is being made in the realm of tax truth. If you consider yourself a True Conservative and pride yourself in doing what is right, I think that you need to investigate the book above that Doug mentioned. (On a side note, I just got back my Arizona state tax check. I paid $0 in State taxes for 2007).

I too am a Ron Paul Republican. I believe that it is time to return to what the Founding Father's made this country to be. and as for taxes, it is time to READ the law, LEARN the law, and APPLY the law. THAT is what Conservatives do...

Does anybody believe that in order for the GOP to be successful in returning our country to its Constitutionally promised Republic, we should look at the planks in the platform and perhaps remove, change or add some?

I would like to address the IRS for a moment; There has been many many posters who believe the IRS is unconstitutional. You are wrong. Article 1 section 8 and Article 1 section 9 CLEARLY define the power the Congress has regarding taxation. The Internal Revenue Code, as written, is 100% in line with the Constitution. I would strongly recommend each of you, visit www.losthorizons.com, the site owner a gentleman by the name of Pete Hendrickson, is a staunch RP supporter. The research he has done regarding Title 26 is phenomenal! I read through his site, bought his book and recovered every cent taken from me under the guise of "Taxes". He goes into great detail about how the 861 argument, the 5th amendment argument, the 16th amendment argument and every other argument you think of is misguided. If the vast majority of the posters here peruse his site, and learn the truth behind Title 26, a significant amount of the issues separating the "True Conservatives" from the current "GOP Conservatives" will be addressed.

Lets start moving forward. Which Senate seats are up in 2010? I am in Arizona, and can guarantee each and everyone of you I will do everything within my power to ensure McCain is NOT the GOP nominee. I also plan to get Kyl out as well.

Thank-you.

I am a Ron Paul Republican, and I have been a Republican since 1976. I became a republican because of it's conservative values, and the party embraced the Constitution! I became a Ron Paul republican because the party seems to be straying away from the LAW OF THE LAND! As a veteran I took an oath to defend our constitution from all enemies foreign, and domestic! I believe each ,and every person who takes the oath of office to also enforce ,and follow the Constitution just as congressman Paul does!! LET'S GET BACK TO THE BASICS OF OUR PARTY!!!

One of my litmus tests I give any political candidate is if they are involved with the CFR. If they are members or support this organization then they are canceled out- no question.

The CFR is running their own agenda and it's not American friendly. We need to get the word out on RtP. Most people are unaware to the subversion to our Constitutional Republic that the CFR poses.
