I've Finally Identified the Jerk Who's Been Breaking Into My House - You'll Be Shocked to Find Out

My family has been the victim of numerous break-ins over the years, and I've finally figured who's behind it all. It amazed me to learn the identity of this jerk, and I'm sure that it'll make you stop and think.

Now, first of all I have to tell you about my father. I could regale you with the tales, but let it suffice that he is the very best man that I have ever had the privilege to know.

So anyway, back to the break-in artist.

My wife and I were just recently blessed with the birth of our first child. I was talking at the hospital with my Dad about the changes in life, and I mentioned how much fun Christmas would be for both of us.

He said to me, "You know who was breaking into our house when you were a kid? I don't think I ever told you."

I questioned, "No, what are you talking about?"

"Every year on the eve of Christmas, you know, the guy who left all of the gifts."

"Yeah, I know. You did it, and now it's my turn. It'll be fun," I smartly remarked.

"No, Jason, that wasn't me. You're severely mistaken."

"What do you mean? I mean, what the hell are you getting at?"

"It was Santa Claus, son. Don't fool yourself. St Nick isn't a person, he is a spirit. The spirit of giving which knows no bounds or limits."

"Yeah, right, I know."

Then he said something that stopped me dead in my tracks. "This is the greatest lesson, so don't just blow it off."

"Listen," he continued. "Just as you opened your heart to Christmas as a child, and let the magic bring you joy, you will also open your heart to Christmas as a man, and the joy will be greater. The difference is that, where once you were receiving the magic and joy, now you will have the responsibility, the charge of creating that magic and joy for your son - just as I created it for my son. That's the lesson. As men we are two separate beings, as St Nick we become one, if only for a moment. I will live on forever in your deeds, as will my father and his father before him."

And such as it is with conservatism.

So many of you have opened your minds and hearts to believe in a higher standard, a more perfect ideal. You have seen the joy of self reliance, you have felt the warmth of liberty. You have let all of the great leaders of the conservative ideal mold your understanding - both those of the past, and those of the soon-to-pass.

Now is the time. Today is the day when some of you - you most sound in conviction, and strong in heart - will hear the call, and receive this most noble of charges. It is now time for you to open your heart and mind once more, but this time is different. You must open your heart and mind to the conservative ideal not to soak it in, but to create the magic and joy for yet another intellectual generation of free Americans.

This will be a new journey for you, but you will arrive. The challenge is great, but you will prevail, for you will not be alone. As you create this most righteous message of joy and magic, you will no longer be one man alone, but rather you will be one with all of the great Fathers of Conservatism, these great mentors who have come before you. Your own Fathers will on forever in your deeds, as will their Fathers and their Founding Fathers before them.

Now, and I mean right now, stop reading this and go create something of substance. Write an article, post a discussion or a blog. Just, for the love of all that is good, please..... begin your journey.
