ALBANY, N.Y. -- Less than a year removed from serving as the Republican vice presidential candidate, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has endorsed a third-party candidate for an upstate New York House seat. Palin backed Conservative party nominee Doug Hoffman on Thursday over Republican Assemblywoman Dierdre Scozzafava in the state's 23rd District.

Palin has written on her Facebook page that Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes and a commitment to individual liberty. Scozzafava spokesman Matt Burns says no endorsement will change the fact that a vote for Doug Hoffman is a vote for Nancy Pelosi's big government agenda. Democrat Bill Owens is also running for the seat. Republican Rep. John McHugh vacated the office last month to become secretary of the Army.

Well, historically Conservatives are latecomers, Eisenhower and Nixon before Goldwater the party was moderate....so....120 years of Moderatism and 30 years of Conservatism?

Tomb 1

moderates are a good part of the GOP. But we can't let moderates destroy vital conservative principles that have shaped this party for over 150 years.

Heh, most of Carmelo's comments talk quite differently. I'm a moderate and I find alot of his comments making me feel like I will be run out of the party via pitchforks and torches.

We're no theocracy - however, our constitution allows freedom of religious expression.

This is a huge issue & huge story, that's why there are blogs regarding it. We don't have to agree 100% lockstep on every issue; however, there has to be a core of values & principles. Scozzafava does not have core principles & values anywhere near what Republicans have. The woman is far left Pelosi-land with her record.

THough still, this is like the third blog about the race in NY23, no offense Suzanne.

McHugh is also a sell out. Bunch of RINOs! Helping the most corrupt anti God and socialist administration in US history.
