Keep up the good fight in the Northwest. I agree with your and the GOPs traditional views and platforms. It's time for a tweak in this modern age, I believe. I think the one part of the pro-life agenda, that makes it completely defensible, is to say "We stand for the protection of innocent life." The word innocent means that we can still advocate for the death penalty, which I think is completely warranted when administered justly and to persons where the sound evidence supports the conviction. And, someone still needs to speak for the most innocent population of our society. The unborn. If abortion isn't wrong, then what can be in our modern culture? Now, while I may sound dogmatic about it I think there are valid responses to all arguments on the subject. True conservatives have cowered in the corner and Republicans have almost been made ashamed of their position.

National defense? Yes, our military needs to be strong. But we should not advocate a strong national OFFENSE. Bush messed this up badly. It's time to get the military infrastructure (yes, I know Boeing is in Seattle-they are also here in St Louis in the takeover of McDonnell Douglas) out of Congress. I'm no dove, but not a war hawk either. It's time to rebuild our reputation around the world. It can be done.
